Fits Microsoft TLL-00002 wireless headset; replaces OEM battery MCOWX11.
3.8V, 1000mAh lithium-polymer cell powers DECT radio and audio without voltage sag.
Connector seats flush into headset battery slot; no external locking tab required.
We bench-cycled this cell in the TLL-00002 base station; BMS handshake completed on first charge cycle.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for one full cycle before taking calls — DECT bases require the new cell handshake to log accurate talk-time estimates.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Microsoft TLL-00002 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (MCOWX11)

This 3.8V, 1000mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Microsoft TLL-00002 wireless headset. It restores power to the headset's DECT radio and audio circuits when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge. Dimensions are 43.60 × 27.50 × 5.70mm — confirm these against your existing cell before installing.

  • TLL-00002 fit: This pack matches the voltage rail, connector, and BMS handshake required by the TLL-00002. The DECT radio and audio amplifier draw simultaneously, so the cell must satisfy both loads without tripping the protection circuit — this one does.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the pack through combined DECT transmission and audio load. The BMS held steady across the draw spike at connection, and the protection circuit did not trip under sustained dual-load conditions.
  • First charge in the base station: Place the headset in its base station and run a complete charge cycle before taking any calls. The TLL-00002 base station logs the new cell during that first cycle — until it does, the talk-time indicator will read inaccurately.

Base station not recognising the new pack after installation

The TLL-00002 base station communicates with the battery's BMS before registering a charge state. If the new cell arrives at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — the base may show no charge activity or a blinking error light. This is not a fault with the cell. Seat the headset firmly in the cradle and leave it undisturbed for at least one full charge cycle. After that cycle completes, the base station handshake resets and the charge indicator should read normally.

Talk time shorter than rated on the first few uses

Li-Polymer cells don't deliver full rated capacity straight out of the packaging. On the first two or three cycles, the electrochemical layers haven't fully activated, so available capacity runs noticeably short. This is expected behaviour, not a defective cell. Run three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles through normal headset use and rated capacity will stabilise — no special conditioning steps are needed beyond regular use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TLL-00002 cuts out mid-call even though the base showed a full charge — what's happening?

The DECT radio and audio amplifier fire at the same time during a call, creating a combined current spike that can trip the BMS if the cell voltage sags too low under that load. This usually happens when the cell hasn't completed its first proper charge cycle and is still sitting near storage voltage. Seat the headset in the base station, let it charge fully without interruption, then retest. If the cutout persists after three full cycles, check that the cell is seated firmly and the connector contacts are clean.

The headset gets noticeably warm on long calls — is that a problem with the new battery?

Some warmth is normal. The TLL-00002 housing is compact, and the combined draw from the DECT radio and audio circuit generates heat in a small space. The BMS will cut power if internal temperature reaches an unsafe threshold, so the cell is protected. If the headset becomes too hot to wear comfortably, end the call and let it cool in the base station for ten minutes before charging. Sustained overheating that triggers BMS cutoff repeatedly points to a ventilation issue with how the headset is worn, not the cell itself.

The base station shows fully charged after only a short time — but the headset dies quickly in use. What's wrong?

A fast "full charge" reading usually means the base station logged the cell at its storage voltage and stopped charging early, before the cell actually reached 4.2V. Remove the headset from the cradle, power it off completely, then reseat it and allow an uninterrupted full charge cycle. After that cycle, the BMS re-initialises with the correct baseline and the base station will charge to the proper cut-off voltage going forward.
