Fits Minox DC 1011, DC 1022, DC 8111, DC 8122 cameras; replaces OEM part 02491-0028-01.
3.7V, 1250mAh Li-ion cell delivers 4.63Wh for full-frame image capture and processing cycles.
Connector seats flush into camera battery chamber with single-tab mechanical lock and polarized slot orientation.
We bench-cycled this cell through ten full discharge passes; BMS accepted handshake on first insertion without authentication delay.
On first power-up, run one complete charge cycle inside the camera body before shooting — Minox firmware maps battery voltage thresholds during the initial charge to display accurate remaining-shot count.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Minox DC 1011 / DC 8111 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (02491-0028-01)

This is a 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-ion cell built to OEM part number 02491-0028-01. It fits the Minox DC 1011, DC 1022, DC 8111, and DC 8122 compact digital cameras. Physical dimensions are 41.95 × 36.05 × 9.80mm — match these against your original before ordering.

  • DC 1011, DC 1022, DC 8111, DC 8122 compatibility: All four models use the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion architecture and share the 02491-0028-01 footprint. The connector pinout and BMS communication protocol are identical across the series, so one cell covers the full camera range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on bench equipment to confirm BMS handshake, cutoff voltage behaviour, and that the protection circuit trips correctly before the cell reaches damaging low-voltage thresholds.
  • First charge in the camera body: Some Minox compact BMS controllers require the initial charge to happen through the camera body itself — not a standalone charger — to calibrate the battery-remaining display. Complete one full charge cycle via the camera before heavy shooting.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the DC 1011 display

The DC 1011's fuel gauge maps voltage thresholds from the original cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell has a slightly different curve shape — particularly in the mid-range plateau — so the camera's indicator can jump forward or backward by 10–20% as it recalibrates. This is not a faulty cell. Run two or three full charge-to-cutoff cycles through the camera and the indicator will settle. If erratic readings persist beyond three cycles, check that the terminal voltage at full charge reads 4.1–4.2V at the cell contacts.

Camera shows dead battery icon immediately after fitting a charged cell

This happens when the camera's BMS authentication check does not recognise a new cell on first insertion. It is not a charge problem — the cell can be at full voltage and still trigger this screen. Remove the battery, reinsert it firmly, and power on again. If the icon persists, place the battery in the camera and charge via the USB port or OEM charger until the charge LED confirms a full cycle, then power on. That charge cycle resets the BMS acceptance state.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Minox DC 1011 jumped from 60% to 10% battery with no warning — is the replacement cell faulty?

The DC 1011 maps remaining charge to specific voltage thresholds calibrated for the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell discharges with a slightly flatter mid-range plateau, which throws those threshold markers off until the camera learns the new curve. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles through the camera body and the percentage readings will stabilise. If the drop still occurs after three cycles, check that the cell reaches 4.1–4.2V at full charge before reassessing.

Flash is recycling much slower between shots than it did with the original battery — what's happening?

Flash capacitor recharge pulls a sharp current spike. Toward the lower end of the cell's charge state, internal resistance rises and the current available for capacitor recharge drops, which stretches recycle time noticeably. This is normal Li-ion behaviour and is not a defect in the replacement cell. Keep the battery above 30% charge during flash-heavy shooting and recycle time will stay close to the camera's rated interval.

The Minox DC 8111 runs noticeably warmer during video recording — is that the battery or the camera?

Sustained video on the DC 8111 stacks draw from the image sensor, the processor, and continuous autofocus simultaneously — well above the current pull of still photography. The cell itself will be warmer than usual, and so will the camera body, because that combined load is close to the cell's sustained output ceiling. This is expected and does not damage the cell unless the body becomes too hot to hold. If it reaches that point, stop recording and let both the camera and cell cool to room temperature before continuing.
