Fits Multiled PRO 138010 and Combi 138008 LED work lights with original battery connector.
4.8V, 1500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers consistent voltage throughout discharge cycles for steady beam output.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a positive locking tab — no force needed on insertion.
We ran full discharge cycles on the bench; the BMS held 4.8V until final cutoff with zero early shutdown events.
On first use with this Ni-MH pack, run the light on medium brightness for one full cycle before switching to maximum — this lets the LED driver calibrate current draw against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Multiled PRO 138010 / Combi 138008 — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 4.8V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Multiled PRO 138010 and Combi 138008 portable LED lights. It slots into the battery compartment to restore power to the light after the original cell has degraded or stopped holding charge. Capacity matches the original specification at 7.2Wh.

  • PRO 138010 and Combi 138008 compatibility: Both lights share the same 4.8V battery platform and physical form factor — 51.10 x 28.60 x 28.50mm — with the same connector orientation and voltage input to the LED driver board. One battery fits both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles and confirmed the BMS held voltage above the LED driver's minimum input threshold throughout the usable discharge range. No premature cutoff was observed during standard operation.
  • First cycle on a new cell: Run the light on medium brightness for the first full charge-discharge cycle. This lets the LED driver calibrate its current output against the new cell before you push it to maximum brightness — full output on an unconditioned Ni-MH cell can trigger an early voltage drop.

LED work light dimming before battery shows low

Ni-MH cells have a relatively flat discharge curve that drops sharply near end-of-charge. The LED driver in the PRO 138010 reduces current draw before the BMS reaches its cutoff threshold — this is intentional, not a fault. You will see the light step down in brightness while the indicator still shows charge remaining. This is the driver protecting itself from a hard voltage collapse, not a sign of a faulty battery.

Light not reaching full brightness after fitting a new battery

A new Ni-MH cell often ships in a partially discharged state. If the resting voltage is below the LED driver's minimum input — typically around 4.4V for a 4.8V pack — the driver cannot supply enough current to the LED array for full output. Fit the battery, connect the light to charge, and run a full charge cycle before first use. After charging, resting voltage should sit at or above 5.4V on a healthy cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Multiled PRO 138010 feel warm around the battery compartment during extended use?

Heat is normal when the LED driver and discharging Ni-MH cell are both generating thermal load inside an enclosed housing. The battery reaches its highest temperature near the end of discharge when internal resistance rises. If the housing feels hot enough to be uncomfortable, the cell is likely at low charge — switch the light off and recharge. Prolonged operation at that stage accelerates cell degradation.

My Multiled light runs for a much shorter time on maximum brightness than on medium — is the battery faulty?

The battery is working as expected. Maximum brightness draws three to four times more current from the cell than medium brightness does, which compresses the usable discharge window significantly. Ni-MH chemistry is particularly sensitive to high continuous draw — voltage sags faster under that load. If runtime on medium brightness is acceptable, the cell is healthy; adjust brightness to suit the task.

The replacement battery charged fully but the light cut out after a short time on the first use — what happened?

An unconditioned Ni-MH cell can show a voltage dip on the first high-draw cycle before the chemistry stabilises. The LED driver interprets that dip as end-of-discharge and cuts power. Recharge the battery fully and run the first cycle on medium brightness — this conditions the cell and allows the driver to read the voltage curve accurately. By the second or third cycle, full brightness operation should hold without early cutoff.
