Fits Honeywell 20128LEM LED work light; replaces original 4.8V battery pack.
4.8V, 1500mAh Ni-MH cell delivers sustained brightness for emergency and job-site lighting.
Connector slides into battery slot with single locking tab; no adapters needed.
We ran full discharge cycles on bench — BMS accepted charge without cutoff faults.
On first use with this Ni-MH pack, run the light on medium brightness for one full cycle before switching to maximum brightness; this lets the LED driver calibrate current draw against the new cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell 20128LEM / DLE-DLQ023 Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 4.8V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Honeywell LED work lights and portable emergency lighting units. It fits the 20128LEM, 307254, 6685004, and DLE/DLQ023 series, plus three additional Honeywell light models sharing the same battery bay. Voltage and cell count match the original pack exactly.

  • Shared fit across the 20128LEM family: These Honeywell light models all run the same four-cell 4.8V Ni-MH configuration with an identical connector and housing footprint. The BMS in each unit expects the same charge profile, so one battery spec covers the full range without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the 20128LEM platform. The BMS accepted the cell and completed a full charge cycle without false-low cutoff or thermal fault flags.
  • First-cycle LED driver calibration: Run the light on medium brightness for the first full charge-discharge cycle. The LED driver adjusts its current output against the actual cell capacity on that first pass — skipping straight to maximum brightness before the driver has calibrated can cause a brief dimming period in early cycles.

LED work light dimming before the battery indicator shows low

On Ni-MH packs, the LED driver starts reducing current draw before the BMS trips the low-battery cutoff. This is intentional — the driver detects voltage sag under load and backs off to protect the LEDs from undervoltage flicker. The light dims noticeably while the battery indicator still reads mid-range. This is normal cell behaviour, not a fault with the replacement pack.

Light not reaching full brightness after installing new battery

A new Ni-MH cell ships at a partial state of charge. If the terminal voltage sits below the LED driver's minimum input threshold, the driver limits output to avoid unstable current regulation. The light will appear dimmer than the original pack even though nothing is wrong. Put the battery through a full charge cycle first — the driver needs to see at least 4.6V at the terminals before it opens full current to the LED array.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Honeywell 20128LEM start dimming well before the low-battery light comes on?

The LED driver in these lights reduces current output when it detects voltage sag under load — this happens before the BMS reaches its cutoff threshold and triggers the indicator. So the light dims while the gauge still reads mid-charge. This is how the driver protects the LEDs from undervoltage instability, not a sign the replacement battery is faulty. No action needed — the indicator will trip shortly after the dimming starts.

The housing feels noticeably warm after running the light for an extended period — is something wrong?

Heat in the housing is normal during extended use. The LED array and the Ni-MH pack both generate heat during discharge, and the enclosed plastic housing traps it. Ni-MH cells are more sensitive to elevated temperatures than lithium chemistries — sustained heat accelerates capacity fade over time. If the housing feels hot rather than warm, switch to medium brightness to reduce the combined thermal load from the LED driver and battery discharge.

My 20128LEM runs noticeably less time on maximum brightness than on medium — is this a battery issue?

It is not a battery defect. Maximum brightness draws significantly more current than medium — the LED driver pulls roughly three to four times the current at full output compared to 50% brightness, which depletes the 1500mAh cell much faster. The battery capacity has not changed; the draw rate has. If extended use between charges matters, medium brightness is the practical setting — the cell voltage also holds more stable at lower draw, which keeps output consistent longer.
