This 4.8V 1500mAh Ni-MH battery replaces part number 2925024 in Kamlux cordless LED work lights and portable LED light units. It fits the 7348707 and LED E7348705 models directly. Voltage and cell count match the original pack, so the LED driver receives the correct input from the first charge.

  • 7348707 and LED E7348705 platform: Both models run a 4.8V four-cell Ni-MH configuration with the same connector and charge termination circuit. One replacement pack covers either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the 7348707 platform. The BMS accepted charge termination correctly at full capacity and held voltage within spec across draw cycles at both medium and maximum brightness settings.
  • First-cycle brightness calibration: Run the light on medium brightness for the first full cycle after fitting this battery. The LED driver calibrates current output against the new cell's voltage curve before you push it to maximum brightness operation.

Light not reaching full brightness after fitting the new battery

The LED driver in these units uses a minimum input voltage threshold before it allows full current to the emitter. A new Ni-MH cell that hasn't been fully charged sits below that threshold and causes the driver to cap output. This isn't a fault with the battery — it's the driver protecting itself from an undervoltage condition. Charge the pack fully before first use and the light will reach rated output.

Light dims noticeably before the low-battery indicator activates

Ni-MH cells have a gradual voltage discharge curve — the LED driver begins reducing current to the emitter as cell voltage drops, well before it reaches the BMS cutoff point that triggers the low-battery signal. This is normal behaviour and not a sign the battery is faulty. The dimming acts as a natural warning ahead of the indicator. When brightness drops at full brightness mode, switch the light off and recharge — the pack still has residual capacity and will respond normally to the next charge cycle.

The light gets warm in the housing during extended use on maximum brightness — is that normal or is something wrong?

Heat in the housing during extended maximum-brightness use is expected on this platform. The LED emitter and the Ni-MH cells both generate heat during high-draw operation, and the enclosed housing traps it. Ni-MH chemistry is more tolerant of moderate heat than lithium cells, but sustained high temperatures will accelerate cell degradation over time. Switch to medium brightness for long sessions to keep housing temperature down.

Runtime on maximum brightness seems much shorter than on medium — is the battery underperforming?

The current draw at maximum brightness is typically three to four times higher than at medium brightness, so the capacity depletes at a proportionally faster rate. That's not a battery fault — it's the LED driver pulling significantly more current from the pack to drive the emitter harder. The 1500mAh capacity figure applies at a standard discharge rate, not at peak draw. If runtime at medium brightness meets expectations, the battery is performing correctly.

The battery charged overnight but the light still cuts out after a short period of use — what's causing it?

If the pack was deeply discharged before charging, the Ni-MH cells may not have fully recovered on the first charge cycle. Deep-discharged Ni-MH cells sometimes accept only a partial charge on the first pass because the BMS terminates early when it detects a voltage anomaly from the depleted cells. Run a second full charge immediately after the first cutout and check output again. If the light holds at medium brightness through a full second cycle, the pack has recovered and is functioning normally.
