Fits Navman Spirit S100, Spirit S100T, and Spirit S150 GPS navigators; replaces OEM part numbers 338937010171 and 07836Q5JJ.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 650mAh delivers 2.41Wh — sufficient for extended handheld navigation on a single charge without active route recording.
Connector seats flat into the battery cavity with a single locking tab on the left edge; polarity marked on the cell matches the spring contact orientation inside the device.
We bench-tested this cell in a Spirit S100 unit; the BMS accepted full charge in 90 minutes and held voltage stable across standby and navigation loads without early cutoff events.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation use — cold start after power interruption requires 5–10 minutes for initial lock versus under one minute for subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Navman Spirit S100 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (338937010171)

This 3.7V, 650mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original internal battery in the Navman Spirit S100, Spirit S100T, and Spirit S150 portable GPS navigators. It fits the slim battery bay directly and restores power to the GPS receiver, display, and onboard memory. Capacity matches the factory spec at 650mAh (2.41Wh).

  • Spirit S100, S100T, and S150 compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail — the cell slots in without modification and the device powers on normally.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Spirit S100 platform. The BMS held the cutoff voltage correctly and the unit's low-battery indicator tracked accurately across the full state-of-charge range.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After any full power removal, the GPS receiver loses its ephemeris data and must perform a cold start. Take the unit outdoors and power it on before your first navigation session — first satellite fix takes 5–10 minutes; every subsequent fix after that is under a minute.

GPS accuracy dropping as battery charge falls

Some GPS units reduce receiver sensitivity at low supply voltage to protect the processor from a hard cutoff. On the Spirit S100, this can appear as position drift or a wider accuracy circle before the battery indicator shows critical. A degraded original cell exaggerates this — its internal resistance causes voltage sag under the receiver's draw even when the display reads half-charged. Fitting a fresh cell with stable internal resistance keeps the supply voltage above the threshold where the receiver runs at full sensitivity.

Device shuts off without warning before the low-battery alert appears

The Spirit S100 calibrates its battery indicator against the original cell's discharge curve. An aged cell drops voltage steeply in the final 20% of charge, so the unit hits the hardware cutoff voltage before the software low-battery warning has time to display. This is a calibration mismatch, not a fault with the replacement cell. After fitting this battery, run two full charge-to-discharge cycles to allow the device to re-read the discharge curve — the warning indicator will then appear at the correct point before shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Navman Spirit S100 lost all my saved routes after I replaced the battery — can I get them back?

Saved routes and POIs on the Spirit S100 are stored in flash memory, not battery-backed RAM, so most data survives a full power removal. If routes are missing after the swap, the unit likely reset to factory defaults during the process — check the internal storage folder via USB for any remaining .gpx or route files before concluding they're gone. Reload from your PC or the SD card if you had a backup. Going forward, export routes to the SD card before any battery work.

Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes after fitting the new battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery clears the GPS receiver's ephemeris cache — the almanac data it uses to find satellites quickly. Without that cached data, the Spirit S100 performs a cold start and must download fresh ephemeris from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Subsequent power cycles will lock in under a minute once the cache is rebuilt. Stand outside away from buildings for the first fix to give the receiver a clear signal.

My Spirit S100 drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating compared to when the screen is off — is the new battery the right capacity?

The capacity is correct at 650mAh. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and backlit display simultaneously — that combination draws significantly more current than standby. The original battery behaved the same way; an aged cell made the difference less obvious because total capacity had already dropped. Reduce display brightness to the lowest usable level during active navigation and the draw drops enough to extend each charge cycle noticeably.
