Fits NEXGO N86 payment terminal; replaces OEM part number GX05.
7.4V, 2600mAh capacity supplies the N86 during card transactions, receipt printing, and wireless connectivity without mid-sale power loss.
Battery connector slides straight into the terminal slot with a single locking tab; orientation marked on the pack matches the housing clearly.
We bench tested this cell on a simulator load bank mimicking live transaction draw—BMS accepted the charge handshake on first insertion and held steady output under 8A printer motor spike.
After installation, run one complete transaction cycle in your payment software before live deployment; the N86 calibrates its charge indicator during normal operation and requires a full boot-charge cycle to map the new cell capacity accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NEXGO N86 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GX05)

This is a 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the NEXGO N86 portable payment terminal. It fits the N86 directly using the original battery slot and connector. Capacity matches the OEM GX05 specification at 19.24Wh.

  • N86 platform fit: The N86 uses a single-cell Li-ion pack with a BMS that handshakes with the terminal's charge controller. This replacement carries the same voltage rail and connector pinout, so the terminal's charge IC recognises it without firmware rejection.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the N86's charge controller and monitored the BMS response across full charge and discharge. The protection circuit tripped correctly at undervoltage and recovered cleanly on reconnect — no locked states.
  • First deployment tip: After installation, complete one full transaction cycle before going live. The N86 maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap

The N86's receipt printer draws a short, sharp current spike each time it fires. On a new battery that hasn't completed a full charge cycle, the BMS may read that spike as an overcurrent event and trip the protection circuit — cutting power instantly. This looks like a random reboot but it's a BMS overcurrent response, not a software fault. Charge the battery fully to 8.4V before first use and run at least one complete transaction so the terminal can calibrate its load profile.

N86 won't power on after sitting unused for weeks

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the N86 sat unused long enough, the cell voltage may have dropped below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell. The terminal will show nothing when you press power because the BMS has locked out to protect the cell. Connect the original charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything; most N86 charge controllers will trickle-charge a deeply discharged cell back above the 3.0V recovery threshold before switching to normal charge mode.

Frequently Asked Questions

The charge indicator on my N86 has been stuck at 99% since I put the new battery in — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. When the N86's charge IC sees a new cell, it enters top-off mode and holds the display at 99% while it applies a low-current finishing charge. This can last 30–60 minutes depending on the cell's starting voltage. Once the charge IC is satisfied the cell is full, it releases to 100% and exits top-off. Let the terminal stay on charge until it flips over — don't disconnect early.

My N86 gets noticeably warm during a heavy transaction period — is that the battery or the terminal?

It's both, and that's normal under combined load. The N86's display, wireless radio, and receipt printer all draw simultaneously during a busy period, and the battery's internal resistance generates some heat as it delivers that combined current. If the terminal is warm to the touch but not hot, and performance isn't dropping, the thermal load is within spec. If you notice the terminal throttling or rebooting under load, let it cool for five minutes and check that the battery contacts are clean and seated flat.

My N86 boots partway then restarts in a loop — it never reaches the payment screen after I swapped the battery.

This is usually the PCI boot sequence failing because the BMS handshake hasn't been accepted yet on a new cell. The N86 runs a secure boot that checks power rail stability, and a partially charged or freshly installed battery can cause the voltage to sag just enough during the processor ramp-up to trigger a restart. Charge the battery fully before attempting to boot — connect the charger, wait until the charge LED indicates full, then power on. If the loop continues after a full charge, reseat the battery to ensure the contacts are making clean connection.
