Fits NEXGO N86 payment terminal; replaces OEM part number GX05.
7.4V and 3400mAh capacity delivers 25.16Wh for full transaction cycles without mid-sale shutdowns.
Connector seats flush into the N86 battery slot with a single locking tab; no force needed.
We ran load tests on the BMS during simulated transaction bursts — cell held voltage steady under printer and wireless draw spikes.
After installation, complete one full transaction cycle before deploying in a live environment; the terminal calibrates battery capacity during normal operation and requires one full power cycle for the charge indicator to read accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NEXGO N86 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GX05)

This is a 7.4V, 3400mAh Li-ion battery built to fit the NEXGO N86 portable POS terminal. It replaces the original GX05 cell and restores full power to terminals that no longer hold a charge. The N86 is a compact, Android-based payment terminal used at retail counters, market stalls, and mobile checkout points.

  • N86 platform fit: The N86 uses a 7.4V two-cell Li-ion pack with a proprietary connector and BMS handshake. This battery matches that voltage rail and connector pinout. The terminal's charge IC will not negotiate with a mismatched cell configuration, so voltage and connector alignment matter here.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on an N86 unit. The BMS responded correctly at both the low-voltage cutoff and the top-off threshold. No overcurrent trips occurred during printer and wireless draw events.
  • First deployment on the N86: After fitting this battery, run at least one complete transaction — card tap or swipe, receipt print — before putting the terminal into live service. The N86 maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs one full power cycle to display the charge indicator correctly.

Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after battery swap

The N86 runs a PCI-compliant boot sequence that checks hardware integrity before loading the payment kernel. On a freshly installed cell, the BMS handshake may not yet be fully accepted by the terminal's charge controller, causing the boot to stall or loop. This is not a fault with the battery itself — it is the terminal verifying that the power source meets its security requirements. Allow the unit to sit on charge for 20–30 minutes after the first power-on, then reboot. The sequence completes once the charge controller has registered the new cell above 7.8V.

Battery indicator stuck at 99% through an entire shift

On a new Li-ion cell, the N86's charge IC enters a top-off phase that holds the display at 99% while it delivers a low trickle current to bring the cell to its exact full-charge voltage of 8.4V. This phase can last longer than expected on a fresh battery because the cell starts with a partial factory charge. The indicator moves to 100% only once the charge current drops below the IC's termination threshold. No action is needed — one full charge cycle from below 20% clears this behaviour permanently.

Frequently Asked Questions

My NEXGO N86 reboots right as I'm printing a receipt — is the new battery faulty?

The receipt printer in the N86 pulls a short current spike that can trip the BMS overcurrent protection on a new cell before it has fully conditioned. This is not a defective battery. Run three to five complete transaction cycles — tap or swipe, then print — to allow the BMS to learn the printer's load profile. If trips continue after five cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated; a loose contact causes the same symptom.

The N86 won't power on at all after sitting unused in a drawer for several months — what's happening?

Extended storage without a charge allows the cell to self-discharge below the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.5V per cell. At that voltage the BMS locks output to protect the cell from damage. Connect the terminal to its original charger and leave it for 45–60 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC needs time to push enough current in to wake the BMS. If the terminal still does not respond after that, the original battery has dropped below recoverable voltage and this replacement is the correct next step.

The N86 feels noticeably warm during a busy trading period — is something wrong with the battery?

Warmth during high-transaction periods is normal. The N86 is simultaneously driving the touchscreen, the contactless reader, the printer, and a cellular or Wi-Fi radio — that combined draw generates heat at the battery and the board. The cell is rated to operate safely up to 60°C. If the terminal becomes hot enough to trigger a thermal shutdown and power off, check that the ventilation slots on the casing are not blocked and that the unit is not sitting on an insulating surface like a padded counter mat.
