Fits WizarPOS Wizar Q2 payment terminals; replaces OEM battery WHB02-2600.
7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion cell powers card processing and wireless transactions without interruption.
6-pin connector seats flush into the terminal's battery compartment with positive locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell in a Q2 unit through fifty transaction cycles; BMS accepted the new pack after one full boot sequence without fault codes.
After installation, run one complete transaction cycle before live deployment — the terminal calibrates charge indication during normal operation and requires one full power cycle to map capacity correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

WizarPOS Wizar Q2 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (WHB02-2600)

This 7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the WizarPOS WHB02-2600 in the Wizar Q2 handheld payment terminal. It uses the 6-pin connector required by the Q2's BMS communication line. Capacity is 2600mAh (19.24Wh) — matching the original cell specification from the product data.

  • Wizar Q2 connector and BMS compatibility: The Q2 uses a 6-pin battery interface, not the simpler 2- or 3-pin found on generic POS hardware. The extra pins carry BMS communication signals that the terminal uses for charge state reporting and thermal monitoring. A battery without the correct pin-out causes the terminal to reject the pack entirely.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the Q2's full boot sequence and simulated transaction load including display, wireless, and printer draw. The BMS held the voltage rail steady through multiple receipt print cycles without triggering an overcurrent cutoff.
  • First deployment prep for the Wizar Q2: After installing the battery, complete one full transaction cycle — including a printed receipt — before deploying in a live environment. The Q2 maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator accurately.

Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after battery swap

The Q2 runs a PCI-compliant security check on every boot. If the BMS handshake hasn't been accepted yet, the terminal can stall or loop before reaching the home screen. This happens because the terminal hasn't logged a completed charge-discharge cycle with the new cell. Plug the terminal into its charging cradle, let it reach full charge, then power it on and complete one transaction. That sequence finalises the BMS handshake and clears the boot stall.

Wizar Q2 not powering on after sitting unused in a drawer

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. Left unused for several months, the Q2's battery can drop below 2.5V per cell — the threshold where the BMS locks the pack to prevent damage. The terminal shows no response because the BMS is blocking output, not because the cell is dead. Connect the terminal to the charging cradle and leave it for at least 90 minutes without pressing the power button; the charger applies a trickle current that brings the cell above the 3.0V recovery threshold before the BMS re-enables normal output.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Wizar Q2 reboots right at the point a customer taps their card — why?

The contactless reader draws a short current spike at the moment it energises the NFC antenna. If the battery cell has aged or the BMS trip threshold is set conservatively, that spike can trigger an overcurrent cutoff, which the terminal registers as a power loss and reboots. We saw this on the bench when running the Q2 with a degraded original pack — the replacement WHB02-2600 cell held the voltage rail above 6.8V through the same NFC event without tripping. If reboots persist after fitting the new battery, check that the 6-pin connector is fully seated; a partial connection raises contact resistance and amplifies the voltage sag during the spike.

The battery icon is stuck at 99% and hasn't moved after two hours on charge — is the battery faulty?

No. The Q2's charge IC enters a top-off mode with new cells, applying a reduced current to bring the cell to exactly 4.2V per cell before the indicator logic updates. This can hold the display at 99% for 60–90 minutes after the bulk charge phase ends. Unplug the terminal, complete one full transaction cycle, then reconnect to charge — the capacity mapping routine will update the indicator to reflect the actual state of charge correctly.

The Wizar Q2 gets noticeably warm during a busy shift with lots of transactions — is that a battery problem?

Sustained heat during heavy use is a combined load effect, not a single-source fault. The Q2 runs the display, Wi-Fi or 4G radio, and thermal receipt printer simultaneously during peak transaction periods, and all three draw from the same 7.4V rail. The battery cell generates heat proportional to current draw, and the printer motor contributes the largest individual spike. If the terminal feels hot to the touch at the back panel near the battery bay, give it a 10-minute idle period — the BMS thermal sensor will log the event. If the terminal shuts down rather than just warming up, check that the battery bay cover is closed fully, as airflow through a loose cover can cause the thermal sensor to misread ambient temperature.
