Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NiKon Coolpix 2500 / 3500 / SQ — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EN-EL2)
This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion replacement for the NiKon EN-EL2 battery cell. It fits the Coolpix 2500, Coolpix 3500, and Coolpix SQ compact digital cameras. Slot it into the same battery compartment as the original and charge via the OEM charger or camera body before first use.
- Coolpix 2500, 3500, and SQ compatibility: All three cameras share the same EN-EL2 footprint, connector orientation, and 3.7V nominal rail. The BMS on each body reads the same voltage curve, so one cell covers all three without any hardware modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Coolpix body BMS and confirmed charge acceptance, stable discharge from 4.2V down to the 3.0V cutoff, and correct termination without false low-battery flags at mid-charge states.
- First-use charge protocol for Coolpix bodies: Run the first full charge inside the camera body or the OEM MH-55 charger — not a generic USB adapter. Some Coolpix BMS firmware requires one camera-body charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining indicator to the new cell's discharge curve.
Dead battery indicator on the Coolpix display despite a charged replacement cell
The Coolpix 2500 maps its battery indicator to voltage thresholds set during manufacture against the original EN-EL2 discharge curve. A new third-party cell can sit at 4.1V and still trigger a low-battery warning if the BMS hasn't completed one full reference cycle. This is a calibration issue, not a cell defect. Run one complete charge-to-4.2V, discharge-to-3.0V cycle through the camera body and the indicator will track correctly from that point forward.
Battery percentage jumping or dropping suddenly mid-shoot
This happens when the camera's voltage-to-percentage lookup table doesn't yet match the new cell's discharge curve. The Coolpix 2500 reads terminal voltage at intervals and converts it to a percentage — if the curve shape differs slightly from the OEM cell, the reading jumps at certain voltage steps. It's most visible between 50% and 20% indicated charge. One full discharge cycle through the camera body resets the reference points and stabilises the display reading.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Coolpix 2500 shows a dead battery icon the moment I insert this new EN-EL2 replacement — is the cell faulty?
Most likely not. The Coolpix BMS runs an authentication check against its stored voltage reference on first insert, and a new cell that hasn't been cycled yet can fail that check even at full charge. Insert the battery, place the camera on charge using the OEM MH-55 charger or charge via the camera body USB port, and let it run a complete charge cycle. After that first full cycle the body accepts the cell and the icon clears.
The battery percentage on my Coolpix 3500 jumps from 60% to 15% with no warning — what's happening?
The Coolpix body maps terminal voltage to percentage using a fixed lookup table tuned to the original EN-EL2 discharge curve. A replacement cell with a slightly different curve shape causes the reading to skip at certain voltage steps — typically between 3.7V and 3.5V. It's a display calibration issue, not a capacity problem. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle through the camera body and the percentage tracking will stabilise.
My Coolpix SQ shot count dropped significantly compared to the original battery — why?
Shot count varies with flash use, continuous autofocus, and image stabilisation draw — each adds current load well beyond what a basic spec count assumes. If flash is set to auto and fires frequently, or if the lens motor is hunting on low-contrast subjects, the draw per shot rises sharply. Check your flash mode first: switching from auto-flash to off in good light will recover a large portion of the shot count difference. The cell capacity is 1050mAh — if total draw per session still seems short after adjusting flash, cycle the cell fully once more and recheck.
