Replaces Nova SmartNOVA original battery; OEM part number N/A — cross-reference your device label before ordering.
3.7V, 1200mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the same energy capacity as the factory pack for full calling, messaging, and app runtime.
Connector type and locking tab match the OEM slot orientation; physical dimensions 53.00 x 33.90 x 5.70mm — seats flush without adapter.
We bench-tested the pack against a depleted original; BMS accepted charge current on first cycle and held steady voltage under standby load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nova SmartNOVA — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Nova SmartNOVA smartphone. It fits devices where the original cell has degraded and can no longer hold adequate charge for daily use. Dimensions are 53.00 x 33.90 x 5.70mm — confirm these against your existing cell before installing.

  • SmartNOVA fit: No OEM part number is published for this cell. Match against the original battery's physical dimensions and the 3.7V voltage rating printed on the cell label before swapping.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on this cell and confirmed the BMS accepts a standard 4.2V CC/CV charge profile. The protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff, and charge termination occurred without incident at full capacity.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the SmartNOVA's fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before any high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Why the SmartNOVA reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The SmartNOVA uses a fuel gauge IC that builds a discharge model based on the old cell's internal resistance and capacity curve. When a new cell goes in, that model is stale. The gauge reads voltage and translates it to a percentage using the old curve, so the number on screen can be off by 10–20%. One full discharge below 5% followed by a complete charge resets the coulomb counter and lets the IC relearn the new curve. After that cycle, percentage accuracy returns to normal.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated yet and the phone's reported percentage is higher than the cell's actual state of charge. Under modem or screen load, the cell voltage drops sharply at a point the OS doesn't expect, and the phone shuts off to protect the cell. It's not a faulty battery — it's an uncalibrated gauge. Run the phone down to below 5% without interruption, then charge fully to 100% in one unbroken cycle. After that, the cutoff voltage threshold the OS uses will align with the new cell and the sudden shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

The SmartNOVA won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Likely not dead — Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if this one dropped below 2.5V per cell, the BMS has locked it out to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. Most BMS circuits begin a trickle pre-charge recovery below that threshold, and the phone will eventually show a low-battery screen once voltage climbs above 3.0V.

Fast charging stopped working on the SmartNOVA right after I put in the new battery — charger shows slow charge only.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge IC sometimes defaults to a conservative charge rate while it validates the new cell's BMS handshake. This is normal behaviour and not a fault with the charger or the battery. Run one full standard-rate charge cycle to completion, then reconnect your fast charger. The IC accepts the higher current profile once it has completed one baseline charge sequence against the new cell.

The battery percentage on my SmartNOVA is jumping around — shows 45%, then drops to 28%, then climbs back up while I'm using it.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve — it doesn't yet have an accurate internal resistance model for the replacement cell. The jumps are most visible under variable loads like screen brightness changes or network switches. Do one uninterrupted discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully to 100% without unplugging early. After that single calibration cycle, the percentage readings stabilise.
