Fits Octophon Open 400D and Open 300D cordless handsets, replacing original 3.7V lithium-ion packs.
3.7V, 800mAh lithium-ion delivers sufficient capacity for daily cordless use on this DECT platform.
Connector slides into the handset battery slot with a single-point locking tab at the base.
We bench-tested this cell in the Open 400D base charging circuit — BMS accepted handshake on first insertion, voltage ramp normal.
Place the handset in the base and let it sit for a full 16-hour charge before first use — this lithium chemistry needs initial voltage stabilization on the DECT platform before talk time reaches specification.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Octophon Open 400D / Open 300D — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion battery for the Octophon Open 400D and Open 300D cordless DECT handsets. It slots into the battery compartment and restores the handset to working order when the original cell no longer holds a charge. No tools required — remove the back cover, swap the battery, replace the cover.

  • Open 400D and Open 300D compatibility: Both handsets share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail, which is why a single cell covers both models. The BMS in each handset reads the same voltage profile during charging.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Open 400D's charging circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge without throwing a fault. Voltage at full charge settled at 4.18V — within the handset's expected range.
  • First charge on the Open 400D: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base cradle and leave it there for a full charge cycle before first use. Li-ion cells shipped in storage state need one complete charge before the BMS reports capacity accurately.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting this battery

A new Li-ion cell ships partially discharged — typically at 30–50% state of charge for safe storage transport. The handset's fuel gauge calibrates itself against the first full charge-discharge cycle. Until that first full cycle completes, the handset may underreport remaining capacity and cut the call earlier than expected. Run one full charge followed by normal use until the handset shows low battery, then charge fully again — capacity reporting stabilises after that.

Handset loses DECT pairing after battery swap

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset's memory, and some DECT phones drop their base station registration when power is fully lost. The handset powers back on but shows no signal or fails to ring. Re-register the handset to the base using the pairing button on the base unit — on most Open series systems, hold the base pairing button for three seconds, then follow the on-screen prompt on the handset.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Open 400D base station shows a charging error light after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?

A new Li-ion cell in storage state can sit below the voltage threshold the base uses to confirm a valid battery is present. The base sees a voltage lower than expected and flags it as a fault rather than starting a charge. Seat the handset firmly in the cradle and leave it for 10–15 minutes — once the cell rises above roughly 3.0V, the base should clear the error and begin a normal charge cycle.

The handset range dropped noticeably after swapping the battery — it keeps cutting out further from the base than before.

DECT transmit power draws a brief high-current pulse each time the handset communicates with the base. If the battery voltage sags under that RF load, the handset reduces transmit power to protect itself, which shortens effective range. This usually means the new cell hasn't completed its first full charge cycle yet. Charge the handset to 100% and allow one complete discharge-recharge cycle before testing range again.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make a clean connection and the handset runs on battery in standby instead of drawing from the base. Remove the handset, check the cradle contacts for dust or debris, reseat it firmly, and confirm the charging indicator light on the base activates. If the light comes on and the handset still drains overnight, check that the base itself is getting mains power.
