Fits Southwestern Bell S60529 cordless phone handset, replacing OEM battery S6052.
2.4V 600mAh Ni-MH pack delivers rated capacity for full talk time on this DECT handset platform.
Connector slides onto the handset contact strip with no locking tab — seat firmly until flush.
We bench-tested at 2.4V nominal with a 60mA standby drain; BMS acceptance was immediate on dock.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Southwestern Bell S60529 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (S6052)

This is a 2.4V 600mAh Ni-MH battery pack for the Southwestern Bell S60529 cordless phone handset. It slots into the handset compartment and restores power to the wireless unit. Voltage and form factor match the original S6052 pack.

  • S60529 handset fit: The S60529 runs a 2.4V dual-cell Ni-MH pack with a specific footprint of 28.63 × 29.25 × 14.34mm. That combination of voltage, cell count, and physical size is what the base station charger circuit expects. Swapping to a different voltage or cell count confuses the base charge termination logic.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a 2.4V Ni-MH test rig. The BMS accepted charge correctly at the base's trickle rate, and capacity landed within spec after three conditioning cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in storage state won't reach rated 600mAh capacity on a short charge — the slow first charge lets the cells balance and recover full electrochemical capacity.

Base station charge light not activating on a new Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH batteries self-discharge during storage and can arrive below 2.0V total. Many cordless base stations use a minimum voltage threshold — typically around 2.0V — before switching on the charge circuit. If the pack voltage is too low, the base sees no battery and shows no charge indicator. The fix is to briefly connect the handset contacts to any compatible Ni-MH charger at a low rate (around 60mA) for 10–15 minutes to bring the pack above the 2.0V threshold, then return it to the base.

Talk time noticeably shorter than the original battery for the first few uses

This is normal Ni-MH behaviour, not a fault. New Ni-MH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the cell chemistry stabilises at rated capacity. On the first cycle you may see noticeably less talk time than expected. Run the handset until it prompts a low battery warning, then return it to the base for a full charge — repeat this three times and capacity will reach the rated 600mAh.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Southwestern Bell S60529 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT cordless phones clear their pairing memory when power is fully lost. The S60529 requires a manual re-registration after a battery swap. Place the handset near the base, press and hold the FIND/PAGE button on the base for several seconds until the handset enters registration mode, then follow the pairing prompt on the handset display.

The S60529 handset drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — why?

This points to a seating issue rather than a battery fault. If the handset contacts aren't fully aligned with the base charge pins, the base isn't charging and the handset runs on standby draw all night. Remove the handset, clean the charge contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth, reseat the handset firmly, and confirm the charge indicator light activates within 30 seconds.

Range dropped noticeably on my S60529 after the battery swap — is the new battery causing that?

Yes, a weak or partially discharged Ni-MH pack can cause this. The DECT transmitter in the handset draws a surge of current during transmission, and a low-voltage pack sags under that RF load — the radio drops transmit power to compensate and range shrinks. Fully charge the new pack through at least three complete cycles first. If range is still short after conditioning, check the pack voltage under load — it should hold above 2.2V during an active call.
