Fits Orange Yumo G740 smartphone; replaces original 3.8V lithium-ion battery pack.
3.8V at 2300mAh delivers 8.74Wh — sufficient for full-day standby and mixed use on this mid-range handset.
Connector mates flush to the Yumo G740 battery slot with positive terminal forward; no adapter needed.
We bench-cycled this cell on a Yumo G740 simulator rig — BMS accepted charge without fault flags; voltage curve held steady across discharge.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

PARA Orange Yumo G740 — 3.8V Li-ion 2300mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 3.8V Li-ion cell rated at 2300mAh (8.74Wh), sized as a direct fit for the Orange Yumo G740 smartphone. It replaces a degraded original cell that can no longer hold charge under typical call, screen, and data load. Dimensions are 100.00 x 41.45 x 4.50mm — measure your original before fitting if you are unsure.

  • Orange Yumo G740 fitment: The G740 uses a fixed connector and BMS handshake tied to the 3.8V nominal rail. Swapping a cell outside that voltage spec causes the charge IC to reject the battery or report incorrect state-of-charge from the first cycle.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and load cycles on the G740 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault codes, and the charge IC progressed through CC and CV phases normally without cutoff errors.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

A fresh cell with a different internal resistance profile hits a voltage cliff earlier than the fuel gauge IC expects. Under modem transmission bursts or screen-at-full-brightness load, the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold even when the OS shows 25% remaining. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage reading lags behind actual cell state. One full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by a complete charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and resolves premature cutoffs.

OS reporting wrong battery percentage after cell swap

The G740's fuel gauge IC uses a stored discharge curve to calculate remaining capacity. When the original cell is replaced, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's behaviour. The result is percentage jumps — often skipping from 40% to 10% — or a reading that freezes and then drops suddenly. Fully discharge the phone until it shuts off automatically, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled; the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's actual curve at that point.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Orange Yumo G740 keeps shutting off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — what's causing it?

The fuel gauge IC on the G740 is still reading off the old cell's discharge curve, so it doesn't see the voltage drop coming under load. When the modem or screen pulls a current spike, the new cell's voltage drops below the BMS cutoff before the OS percentage catches up. This is a calibration gap, not a faulty battery. Do one full drain to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without fast charging — the coulomb counter resets and the shutdowns stop.

Fast charging isn't working on the first cycle after I put in the replacement cell — is something wrong?

On the first charge cycle with a new cell, the G740's charge IC sometimes won't negotiate the fast charge protocol until it has completed one standard charge pass. The BMS on a fresh cell presents a slightly different impedance signature, and the USB-PD or proprietary handshake can fall back to standard 5V charging as a precaution. This is normal behaviour. Let the first cycle complete at standard charge rate, then fast charging should activate on the second cycle once the BMS and charge IC have exchanged a full handshake.

The phone feels warm near the battery while charging with the new cell — should I be concerned?

A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a worn-in cell, so the charge IC pushes more voltage across that resistance during the constant-current phase, generating more heat than you'd see with an aged cell. This is most noticeable in the first two or three charge cycles and reduces as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone is charging at room temperature and the warmth eases after the first few cycles, no action is needed. If it stays hot or the case becomes uncomfortable to hold after three cycles, check that the charge port is fully seated and that no fast charge accessory is forcing current above the G740's rated input.
