Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Plantronics Voyager Focus 2 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (FT523230P)
This 3.7V, 700mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original FT523230P cell inside the Plantronics Voyager Focus 2 wireless Bluetooth headset. It fits the over-ear stereo headset used for office and mobile calls. Capacity matches the original at 700mAh (2.59Wh).
- Voyager Focus 2 fit: The Focus 2 uses a compact Li-Polymer cell at 35.00 x 29.60 x 6.70mm. That physical footprint, combined with the 3.7V nominal rail and the FT523230P connector pinout, is what locks this battery to this headset — not just voltage alone.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Focus 2 platform and confirmed the BMS completed its handshake with the base station. Charge acceptance was normal and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage threshold.
- First-cycle base station protocol: Seat the headset in its charging base and run a full uninterrupted charge before your first call. The Focus 2 base station logs the new cell during that first cycle — until it does, the talk-time indicator on the headset and any paired softphone will read inaccurately.
Why the Voyager Focus 2 cuts out mid-call even with a new battery
The Focus 2 runs two power-hungry systems at once — active noise cancellation and the Bluetooth radio. Under that combined draw, a cell sitting at storage voltage (typically around 3.6V) can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold before it has been fully conditioned. The headset interprets this as a depleted cell and shuts the audio. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it resolves after two to three complete charge cycles as the cell reaches its rated capacity. Run each conditioning cycle in the base station with the headset fully seated.
Base station shows charging error after battery swap
After a battery replacement, the Focus 2 base station occasionally displays a charging fault or refuses to register the headset as charging. This happens when the BMS on the new cell has not yet completed its initialisation handshake with the base's charge controller. Remove the headset from the base, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly — the contacts on the Focus 2 are recessed and a partial connection will stall the handshake. If the error persists, confirm the cell voltage is above 3.5V with a multimeter before reseating.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Voyager Focus 2 talk time is much shorter than expected after fitting the new battery — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. A fresh Li-Polymer battery ships at partial storage charge, and the Focus 2's talk-time estimate is based on what the base station has logged from previous cycles — not the actual cell state. Talk time improves noticeably over the first three to five full charge cycles as the cell reaches its rated 700mAh capacity. Run each cycle fully seated in the base station with the headset charged to completion before use.
The headset cuts out mid-call but the base station still shows a charge remaining — what's causing that?
This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. The Voyager Focus 2 draws simultaneously from the Bluetooth radio and the ANC microphones — that combined load can pull the cell voltage below the BMS protection cutoff before the charge indicator catches up. It happens most often in the first few cycles when the cell hasn't reached full capacity. Condition the battery with two or three complete charge-discharge cycles and the sag threshold will shift above the cutoff point.
The headset feels noticeably warm on the side of my head during long calls — is that normal after a battery swap?
Some warmth is expected. The Focus 2 houses a small Li-Polymer cell, a Bluetooth radio, and ANC processing in a tight over-ear shell, and sustained combined draw generates heat in a confined space. If the warmth is mild and consistent, the cell is operating normally. If the housing becomes hot to the touch or the headset shuts off abruptly, remove it and let it cool — then check that the replacement cell voltage reads between 3.7V and 4.2V after a full charge cycle.
