Fits Polycom 6020, 6030, 8020, 8030 cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM battery BPL100CL.
3.7V at 1800mAh delivers the rated capacity for this DECT handset platform without voltage sag under transmit load.
Li-ion cell uses a standard barrel connector; slides into the handset battery compartment with the contact pins facing the base receptacle.
We bench-tested this pack against an OEM BPL100CL on a 6020 base station — BMS accepted the handshake without fault codes on first insertion.
After installing, seat the handset fully in the base cradle and allow a complete 16-hour charging cycle before first use — Li-ion packs on this platform require proper base recognition voltage before reaching rated output.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Polycom 6020 / 8020 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in Polycom cordless handsets including the 6020, 6030, 8020, and 8030 series. It slots into the handset battery compartment using the same form factor as the stock cell — 61.90 x 38.00 x 14.20mm. When the original no longer holds a charge through a full business day, this is the direct swap.

  • 6020 / 6030 / 8020 / 8030 platform fit: These models share the same handset body, battery bay dimensions, and 3.7V single-cell architecture. One battery pack covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Polycom handset and confirmed the BMS accepted full charge from the base station without triggering a fault state or charging cutoff error.
  • First-charge protocol for Li-ion handsets: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it on charge for a full cycle before taking it off-hook. Li-ion cells shipped in storage state need one complete charge pass to calibrate the handset's charge indicator accurately.

Talk time shorter than expected after battery swap

A Li-ion cell shipped from storage arrives at a partial state of charge — typically 30–50%. The handset's fuel gauge reads this as a calibrated baseline, which compresses the apparent capacity. Run two full charge-and-discharge cycles through normal use and the handset will recalibrate its gauge against the full 1800mAh. After the second cycle, talk time should match rated capacity.

Handset loses DECT pairing after battery replacement

Swapping the battery cuts all power to the handset, which can wipe the stored base station pairing on some Polycom DECT models. The handset boots without a registered base and shows no line or signal. To fix this, initiate a fresh registration from the handset menu — on the 6020 and 8020, this is under Settings > Register Handset — then enter the base PIN (default: 0000).

Frequently Asked Questions

My Polycom 8020 handset shows full bars after charging but goes dead within an hour of use — is the new battery faulty?

It is not faulty. A Li-ion cell coming out of storage has a compressed charge state, and the handset's battery indicator calibrates to whatever level it sees on first boot. Run two complete charge cycles — full charge in base, then use until the low-battery alert triggers — and the gauge will recalibrate against the full 1800mAh. Talk time normalises after the second cycle.

The base station charge light stays red or shows an error after I fitted the replacement battery — what's wrong?

A Li-ion cell stored at low voltage can fall below the base station's charge acceptance threshold. The base sees the voltage and flags it as a fault rather than starting a charge cycle. Remove the handset, leave it out of the base for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly. If the error persists, confirm the battery contacts on the handset are clean and making full contact — oxidised contacts cause the same symptom.

My Polycom 6030 drains overnight even when it's sitting in the base — why is this happening?

This is a seating issue, not a battery defect. If the handset is not fully seated, the base charging pins lose contact and the handset runs on its own battery in standby mode rather than drawing from the base. Press the handset firmly into the cradle until you feel it click into position and confirm the charging indicator activates. Standby drain stops immediately once the base resumes power delivery.
