Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

WizarPOS Wizar Q2 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (WHB02-2600)

This 7.4V Li-ion battery replaces the original WHB02-2600 unit in the WizarPOS Wizar Q2 portable payment terminal. Capacity is 3400mAh (25.16Wh). The 6-pin connector matches the OEM footprint exactly — no modification needed.

  • Wizar Q2 platform fit: The Q2 uses a 6-pin interface that carries both power and BMS communication. This battery uses the same pin assignment, so the terminal's charge controller and fuel gauge read cell state correctly from first boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the battery through a full boot cycle on a Wizar Q2 unit, triggered the receipt printer motor, and confirmed the BMS held the voltage rail without tripping overcurrent cutoff during the printer's start surge.
  • First-use cycle on the Q2: After installation, complete one full transaction — including a print — before deploying the terminal on a live counter. The Q2 maps battery capacity during normal operation, and the charge indicator won't read accurately until at least one complete power cycle has finished.

Terminal rebooting mid-transaction after a battery swap

The Wizar Q2 receipt printer draws a short high-current spike when the motor starts. If the BMS on a new cell hasn't yet mapped its internal resistance, it can read that spike as an overcurrent event and trip the protection circuit — cutting power mid-sale. This isn't a faulty battery. Run two or three test transactions without customers present to let the BMS settle its overcurrent threshold. After that calibration window, the terminal handles the printer surge without interruption.

Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after sitting unused

A Wizar Q2 left in a drawer for several months can self-discharge below the PCI boot threshold — typically under 3.0V per cell. At that voltage, the terminal's security processor won't complete its startup handshake and the screen stays dark or loops. Connect the terminal to the OEM charger and leave it for at least 90 minutes before attempting to power on. Once the cell climbs above 3.2V per cell (6.4V total), the boot sequence should complete normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Wizar Q2 shows 99% charge and won't move off that reading — is the battery faulty?

No. A new Li-ion cell starts in top-off mode, where the charge IC holds the cell at float voltage and the fuel gauge reports near-full until it has enough data to interpolate a discharge curve. Use the terminal normally through one complete charge-discharge cycle and the percentage will start tracking accurately. If it's still stuck after three full cycles, check that the 6-pin connector is fully seated — a loose pin 5 breaks the BMS data line.

The terminal gets noticeably warm during a busy transaction period — should I be concerned?

Warmth during heavy use is expected. The Q2 runs display backlight, wireless radio, and printer motor simultaneously, and a 7.4V Li-ion cell under that combined draw will dissipate heat. The BMS will throttle output before the cell reaches a damaging temperature. If the terminal is too hot to hold comfortably, check that it isn't sitting in direct sunlight or inside a closed drawer while processing — ambient heat stacks on top of load heat and can push the BMS into thermal protection earlier than normal.

The Wizar Q2 powers on fine but cuts out the moment a customer taps to pay — what's happening?

A tap-to-pay transaction wakes the NFC controller and the security processor at the same time, creating a brief load spike. If the cell voltage sags below the terminal's minimum operating threshold during that spike — common in an aged or deeply discharged battery — the Q2 interprets it as a power failure and shuts down. Check the resting voltage before charging: if it reads below 6.8V at rest, the cell has degraded past the point where the Q2's BMS can compensate. Replace the battery and confirm the resting voltage on the new cell sits at or above 7.2V before deployment.
