Fits Premier DS8330 digital camera, replacing the original 3.7V lithium-ion cell.
3.7V, 1250mAh capacity delivers sufficient current for photo capture and video recording on the DS8330.
Connector aligns with the DS8330 battery slot; polarity marked on the cell matches the camera body contact layout.
We bench-tested this cell in the DS8330 body; the BMS accepted the new pack on first charge cycle without fault codes.
On first use, run one full charge cycle through the camera body before heavy shooting — the DS8330 BMS maps battery percentage to the new discharge curve during initial charge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Premier DS8330 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1250mAh lithium-ion cell is a direct replacement for the Premier DS8330 digital camera battery. It restores full shooting capability when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge. Capacity figure is sourced from product data: 1250mAh (4.63Wh).

  • DS8330 fit: The DS8330 uses a compact Li-ion cell on a single 3.7V rail. This replacement matches the original cell's voltage, physical footprint (41.95 × 36.05 × 9.80mm), and connector orientation — the camera's BMS reads it on the same charge and discharge thresholds as the factory cell.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the DS8330 body using an OEM-compatible charger. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and charge termination triggered correctly at full capacity. Discharge tracking remained consistent across multiple cycles.
  • First-cycle acceptance on the DS8330: Run the first full charge cycle inside the camera body or with an OEM-compatible charger. Some compact camera BMS systems will not calibrate the battery-remaining indicator accurately until they complete one supervised charge cycle from within the body itself.

Battery percentage jumping on the DS8330 display after fitting a new cell

The DS8330's charge indicator maps voltage thresholds to percentage steps. A new Li-ion cell has a slightly different discharge curve shape at the start of its life compared to a worn original cell — the camera's indicator was calibrated against the aged curve. This causes the percentage to jump or stall at certain points, typically between 80% and 60%. After two or three full charge-discharge cycles, the indicator stabilises and tracks the new cell's curve correctly.

DS8330 showing dead battery indicator on a cell that charged fully

This happens when the BMS has not completed an initial handshake with the new cell. Remove the battery, wait ten seconds, and reinsert it. If the dead battery icon persists, place the cell back into the charger until the charge LED confirms full charge — typically ending at 4.2V on a standard Li-ion charge cycle. Reinsert into the camera body; in most cases the indicator clears on the next power-on.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DS8330 shows "no battery" even though the replacement cell is fully charged — what's causing that?

The DS8330's BMS runs a quick authentication check on insertion. A new cell that hasn't completed a supervised charge cycle in the camera body can fail this check and trigger the no-battery flag. Remove the cell, reinsert it, then charge it fully via the camera body or an OEM-compatible charger before powering on. That single charge cycle is usually enough for the camera to accept the cell and clear the error.

The battery percentage on my DS8330 jumps from 75% straight down to 20% with no warning — is the cell faulty?

The cell is most likely fine. The DS8330 maps voltage steps to its percentage display, and a new cell's discharge curve doesn't match the worn original the firmware was calibrated against. The indicator reads the voltage drop accurately at the top and bottom of the curve but skips in the middle. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body and the display will track the new cell's curve without the sudden jumps.

Shot count on my DS8330 is noticeably lower than expected — flash recycling also seems slow. What's drawing the cell down?

Flash recharge is the single largest current draw on a compact digital camera. Every flash fire pulls a burst of current to recharge the capacitor, and if you're shooting with flash on a majority of frames, the actual draw is far higher than the camera's rated shot count assumes. Continuous autofocus and display brightness add to that. To extend charge between downloads, switch flash to manual or reduce firing frequency — the cell is performing correctly, the draw profile is just higher than baseline spec assumes.
