This is a 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-ion cell that fits the Voigtlnder Virtus W7, Virtus D8, Virtus D800, and Virtus XM 8600 digital cameras. It slots directly into the battery compartment and connects to the camera's BMS via the original contact points. Capacity is 1250mAh (4.63Wh), matching the original cell specification.

• Virtus W7, D8, D800, and XM 8600 compatibility: These four models share the same battery form factor, contact layout, and 3.7V power rail. The BMS handshake across the series is consistent, so one cell covers all four bodies without modification.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge and discharge cycle on a Virtus-series body. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
• First-use charge cycle in-camera: On initial install, charge this cell inside the camera body rather than an aftermarket external charger. Some Virtus-series BMS units need one full in-camera charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining indicator to the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Virtus display

The Virtus series maps battery percentage to a voltage-threshold table stored in firmware. A new third-party cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the OEM cell that table was built around. The firmware reads a voltage that doesn't land cleanly on an expected threshold step, so the indicator skips or drops suddenly. Run one full charge-to-cutoff cycle in-camera and the BMS recalibrates its reference points against the new cell's actual curve. After that cycle, the percentage display stabilises.

Flash not fully recycling between shots on a new cell

The built-in flash capacitor draws a short burst of high current each time it recharges between shots. If the cell voltage sags during that recharge draw — common when a cell is near depletion or has not been fully charged — the capacitor doesn't reach full charge before the next shot. The result is weaker flash output and longer recycle delays. Charge the cell fully before any flash-heavy session and check that resting voltage reads at or above 4.1V before shooting.
