Fits Redmond RV-R300 and RV-R310 robotic vacuums; replaces OEM battery CS-MDL083VX.
14.4V, 1800mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full motor power and cleaning runtime on restricted airflow.
Connector slides straight onto dock contacts with no locking tab; orientation marked on housing.
Bench testing showed stable voltage hold across discharge cycles with no premature BMS cutoff.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently — continuous trickle charge degrades Ni-MH capacity faster than removing it when fully charged.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Redmond RV-R300 / RV-R310 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 1800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Redmond RV-R300 and RV-R310 robotic vacuum cleaners. It fits the original battery slot and restores power to the vacuum's motor and cleaning cycle. Capacity matches the factory specification at 25.92Wh.

  • RV-R300 and RV-R310 compatibility: Both models run the same 14.4V motor rail and use an identical battery housing and connector arrangement. One battery covers both units without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the battery through full charge and discharge cycles on the RV-R300 platform. The BMS accepted charge from the standard dock without fault, and the motor drew current within expected range on hard floor and carpet surfaces.
  • Dock charging habit on robotic vacuums: Do not leave the RV-R300 sitting on its dock indefinitely between uses. Ni-MH cells in robotic vacuums are particularly vulnerable to trickle charge damage — continuous dock contact shortens usable capacity faster than regular charge-and-remove cycles. Charge to full, then lift the unit off the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the RV-R300

This happens when the motor is working harder than rated — usually because the filter is partially blocked. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw more current, which drops cell voltage faster than the indicator expects. The indicator is calibrated for normal current draw, so it reads higher than actual remaining capacity. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest suction consistency across a full cleaning run.

Motor cutting out mid-cycle and then recovering on its own

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked brush roll, clogged filter, or carpet fibres jammed in the intake — current spikes past the BMS threshold and it interrupts the circuit to protect the cells. The BMS resets after a brief pause, which is why the motor starts again. Clear the blockage completely, then check that resting voltage is at or above 15.6V before resuming normal use.

Frequently Asked Questions

The RV-R300 runs for a short time and then suction drops off — is that a battery problem or something else?

Nine times out of ten it is a partially blocked filter, not a failed battery. A restricted filter forces the motor to pull more current than rated, which drags cell voltage down faster than normal and makes a healthy battery behave like a weak one. Remove and clean the filter, then run a full cycle. If runtime and suction stay consistent after that, the battery is fine — the filter was the load problem.

My RV-R300 keeps cutting out during cleaning and then starts again on its own — what is happening?

The BMS is tripping on an overcurrent spike and resetting once the load drops. This usually means the brush roll or intake is partially jammed, forcing the motor to surge past the BMS current limit. It is not a battery fault — the cells are protecting themselves correctly. Clear the brush roll, check the intake path for debris, and confirm the filter is clean before the next run.

The replacement battery on the RV-R300 faded quickly after only a few weeks — what went wrong?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause. Ni-MH cells in robotic vacuums degrade significantly faster when kept on trickle charge between every use rather than charged only when depleted. If the unit sat on the dock permanently, capacity fade in a matter of weeks is expected. Going forward, charge the battery to full, remove the unit from the dock, and return it only when the battery needs charging again.
