Fits Hoover BD20010 and CH20000 cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part 2SZ2800000.
7.2V, 3000mAh Ni-MH battery delivers steady power to the motor across cleaning cycles without voltage sag.
Connector slides straight onto the vacuum's charging dock with a single locking tab on the left side.
We bench-tested this pack on a BD20010 motor load for three full discharge cycles; BMS held stable current draw under motor demand.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock permanently — continuous dock charging causes capacity fade faster than charging only when depleted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hoover BD20010 / CH20000 — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (2SZ2800000)

This is a 7.2V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Hoover BD20010 and CH20000 cordless handheld vacuums. It matches the OEM part number 2SZ2800000 and slots directly into the battery compartment of both models. Capacity is rated at 21.6Wh — identical to the original specification.

  • BD20010 and CH20000 compatibility: Both models run on the same 7.2V motor rail and use an identical battery housing and connector format. The BMS handshake is consistent across both — one replacement covers either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the BD20010 motor under load, including carpet-level suction draw. The BMS held within expected current limits and did not trip during sustained use with a clean filter installed.
  • Dock charging on the BD20010: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging accelerates capacity fade in Ni-MH cells faster than in lithium chemistries. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This is a voltage sag issue, not always a dead battery. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than rated to maintain suction pressure. That elevated draw pulls the cell voltage down faster than normal, causing suction to weaken while the indicator still reads mid-range. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers, the battery is likely fine.

Motor cutting out mid-use and then recovering after a short pause

This pattern points to a BMS overcurrent trip rather than a flat battery. The BMS cuts the circuit when sustained current draw exceeds the cell's safe threshold — most often triggered by restricted airflow forcing the motor to work harder. After a short pause, the BMS resets and the vacuum runs again briefly before tripping once more. Clear the filter and check the suction path for blockages; if the motor runs cleanly after that, the battery is not the cause.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hoover BD20010 seems to lose suction well before the battery light shows low — is the battery already failing?

Not necessarily. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which drags cell voltage down faster than the indicator expects. The vacuum reads the voltage drop as low power rather than restricted airflow. Clean the filter first — if suction holds for longer after that, the battery is not the issue.

The vacuum runs for a few seconds, cuts out, then works again after I leave it a minute — what's causing that?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip resetting itself. When airflow is restricted, the motor pulls more current than the BMS allows, so it cuts the circuit to protect the cell. After a short pause the BMS resets, and the cycle repeats until you clear the restriction. Check the filter and the suction path for any blockage — once airflow is restored, the motor draw drops back into normal range and the tripping stops.

I replaced the battery but the vacuum runs noticeably less time than it used to on the original — why?

A clogged filter is the most common cause here. Restricted airflow makes the motor work harder and draw more current, which depletes a fully charged Ni-MH cell faster than rated. Before assuming the new battery is underperforming, clean the filter and run a full charge cycle — charge completely, remove from the dock, and run to depletion. If runtime is still short on the second cycle, verify the charger is reaching a full-charge state rather than cutting off early.
