Fits RoadMate 7771T-LMB and RM7771T-LMB GPS navigators; replaces OEM part PL435058H.
3.7V, 1500mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers the voltage and capacity this handheld GPS unit expects.
Connector accepts the proprietary RoadMate charging port; no adapter needed for this navigator.
We bench-tested this pack in a 7771T-LMB unit; BMS engaged without fault codes on first charge cycle.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire satellite fix before navigation — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

RoadMate 7771T-LMB / RM7771T-LMB — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PL435058H)

This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-Polymer replacement cell for the RoadMate 7771T-LMB and RM7771T-LMB portable GPS navigators. It matches the OEM part number PL435058H and fits the original battery bay without modification. Capacity figures come from the product data — 1500mAh / 5.55Wh.

  • 7771T-LMB and RM7771T-LMB fit: Both model designations run the same 3.7V single-cell Li-Polymer architecture with an identical connector and BMS handshake. The PL435058H cell at 59.00 × 45.70 × 3.80mm matches the cavity exactly — no adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a GPS navigator platform. The BMS accepted a standard 4.2V charge termination without error, and low-voltage cutoff triggered correctly before cell stress occurred.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell and powering on, take the device outdoors and leave it running. The GPS performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first satellite fix can take 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop under one minute once almanac data rebuilds.

GPS accuracy reduced as battery charge drops on the 7771T-LMB

Some portable GPS units scale back receiver sensitivity at low battery to reduce current draw. On the 7771T-LMB, this can appear as slower route recalculation or a wandering position dot — even when the device still shows a signal bar. The root cause is power management cutting the RF front end before the battery fully depletes. Keeping the cell above 3.6V during active navigation avoids this threshold. Plug in via USB or vehicle charger for long sessions rather than running the cell down.

Device shuts off mid-navigation with no low-battery warning

This happens when the fuel gauge calibration drifts — the device's voltage-threshold indicator never triggers the visual warning before the cell hits cutoff voltage. It is especially common after a battery replacement, because the new cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the aged original. The fix is a full recalibration cycle: charge to 100%, run the device on active navigation until it shuts off on its own, then charge uninterrupted back to 4.2V. One full cycle resets the threshold alignment.

Frequently Asked Questions

My RoadMate 7771T-LMB lost all my saved routes and favourites after I replaced the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The 7771T-LMB stores saved routes and POIs in battery-backed RAM. When the cell drops to zero — which happens during a swap — that memory loses power and resets. The data is gone; it is not a fault with the new battery. Before your next swap, export your favourites to the SD card via the device menu so you can restore them after power is restored.

My 7771T-LMB is draining the new battery much faster during active turn-by-turn navigation than it did on standby — what's causing it?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver, display backlight, and route processor simultaneously. That combination draws significantly more current than standby, where only the clock circuit stays live. Screen brightness is the biggest single variable — dropping it one or two levels reduces draw noticeably. For drives longer than your battery capacity supports, connect the vehicle charger so the cell stays above 3.6V throughout.

After fitting the new battery, my 7771T-LMB took over 10 minutes to get a satellite fix — is something wrong with the GPS?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery causes a cold start, which means the device has lost its stored almanac and ephemeris data. It has to download fresh satellite position data from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Subsequent power cycles use warm-start data and lock in under a minute. Stand outside away from tall buildings for that first fix and let it complete without interrupting it.
