Fits Polar V650 GPS cycling computer, replaces OEM part number G484466P.
Rated 3.7V and 1400mAh—delivers the full 5.18Wh capacity this watch needs for multi-hour GPS tracking and route recording on outdoor rides.
Connector seats flush into the V650 battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is marked inside the case to prevent reverse insertion.
We tested this cell on a bench cycle—BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes, voltage held steady under GPS receiver load draw.
After fitting, power the V650 fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before use—GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Polar V650 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (G484466P)

This is a 3.7V, 1400mAh Li-Polymer cell built to the G484466P specification for the Polar V650 GPS cycling computer. It replaces the original cell when capacity has dropped to the point where the V650 can no longer sustain a full ride. Voltage and physical dimensions match the factory spec: 55.80 × 41.60 × 5.00mm.

  • V650 platform fit: The V650 uses a flat Li-Polymer pouch cell with a specific connector orientation tied to the unit's charge management circuit. Swapping to a cell of incorrect thickness or capacity will cause fit problems or trigger the BMS to refuse charging entirely.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a V650 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and the low-voltage cutoff fired at the expected threshold without premature shutdown.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the V650 fully on outdoors before your first ride. GPS performs a cold start after any complete power interruption — budget 5 to 10 minutes for first satellite fix outdoors rather than the sub-minute warm start you had before the swap.

V650 GPS accuracy dropping at low battery

The V650 GPS receiver draws consistent current to maintain satellite lock, but at low cell voltage the unit can reduce receiver sensitivity to protect remaining charge. This shows up as position drift or wider track scatter on climbs and descents where signal is already weaker. A degraded original cell that sags to 3.4V or below under GPS load will trigger this behaviour even when the on-screen indicator still shows one bar. Fitting a fresh cell and keeping it above 3.6V under load restores full receiver sensitivity.

V650 shutting off without a low-battery warning

This happens when the fuel gauge calibration drifts after a battery swap — the V650 reads remaining capacity from voltage curve data stored from the old cell. A fresh cell with a slightly different discharge curve can cause the indicator to read 20% while the actual voltage is already near cutoff. The fix is a full calibration cycle: charge to 100%, ride until the unit shuts off under GPS load, then charge uninterrupted back to 100%. After one full cycle the voltage-to-capacity mapping recalibrates and the warning fires at the correct threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Polar V650 lost all my saved routes after I replaced the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The V650 holds route and POI data in memory that relies on continuous power to retain its state. A full power removal during a battery swap can wipe that stored data. Before opening the unit, export your routes via Polar Flow so you have a backup. After fitting the new cell and powering up, re-sync with Polar Flow to restore them.

The V650 is taking much longer to find satellites after the battery swap — what's happening?

That's a cold start, and it's expected after any complete power interruption. The GPS receiver loses its last known position and almanac data when power drops to zero, so it has to download fresh satellite data from scratch. Take the V650 outside with a clear sky view and give it 5 to 10 minutes on the first fix. Every subsequent lock after that will be a warm start and will acquire in under a minute.

My V650 seems to drain faster now during rides than it did with the original battery — what's causing it?

A new cell won't drain faster than a healthy original — if anything it should last longer. The likely cause is display brightness set to maximum combined with continuous GPS logging, which is the highest draw state for the V650. Check that the backlight isn't set to always-on in the display settings. If drain is still noticeably fast after adjusting brightness, run one full charge-to-cutoff calibration cycle so the fuel gauge reads the new cell's actual capacity curve correctly.
