Fits Garmin dēzl OTR800, dēzl OTR800 MT-S, and Overlander GPS navigators; replaces OEM part 361-00109-00 and 361-00109-05.
3.7V, 2000mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers the same capacity as original packs for truck navigation routing and real-time traffic functionality.
Connector slots vertically into the battery compartment with a single-tab locking mechanism; no adapters required for OTR800 series.
We bench-tested the cell through five full discharge cycles; the BMS maintained stable voltage output until cutoff with no irregular drops.
After installing this cell, power the GPS fully outdoors and allow five to ten minutes for initial satellite acquisition before navigation use.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin dēzl OTR800 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (361-00109-00)

This 3.7V, 2000mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Garmin dēzl OTR800, dēzl OTR800 MT-S, and Overlander GPS navigators. It matches the OEM dimensions of 61.00 × 49.30 × 6.00mm and connects directly to the existing battery connector inside the device. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds charge or shuts the unit off before the on-screen indicator reaches zero.

  • OTR800, OTR800 MT-S, and Overlander fit: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail, so a single cell covers the full group. The BMS on each device uses the same charge termination voltage, so no firmware differences affect charging behaviour.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the OTR800 platform. The BMS accepted charge at the standard CC/CV profile, terminated cleanly at 4.2V, and held the low-voltage cutoff at approximately 3.0V without tripping early.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after power interruption: After fitting this cell, power the navigator on outdoors before driving. The dēzl OTR800 performs a cold start after any full power removal — allow 5 to 10 minutes for first satellite fix before relying on turn-by-turn directions.

GPS accuracy reduced when battery charge drops below 20%

At low state of charge, the dēzl OTR800 reduces power to the GPS receiver to extend operation. This drops satellite sensitivity, which can widen position error — noticeable when navigating tight truck routes near restricted roads. A degraded original cell sitting at low voltage all day triggers this mode more often than a fresh cell would. Replacing the battery and keeping charge above 20% during active navigation keeps the receiver running at full sensitivity.

dēzl OTR800 shuts off without showing a low-battery warning

This happens when the original cell has aged enough that its actual capacity no longer matches the fuel gauge calibration. The device reads 30% remaining but the real voltage collapses to the 3.0V cutoff threshold under load, triggering an immediate shutdown. It is not a firmware fault — the indicator is simply reading a worn cell inaccurately. Fit the new cell, charge to 100%, then run one full discharge cycle so the fuel gauge recalibrates against the fresh capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My dēzl OTR800 lost all my saved truck routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The OTR800 stores some route and recent-destination data in RAM that loses state on full power removal. Custom vehicle profiles and saved favourites stored in flash memory survive the swap, but recent routes and active trip data sitting in RAM are gone. Before pulling the old battery, export your custom truck routes through the device's route management menu so you can reload them after the new cell is in.

Satellite lock is taking over 5 minutes on the OTR800 after fitting the replacement battery — something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing power clears the almanac and ephemeris data the receiver holds in memory, forcing a cold start on next power-up. A cold start on the OTR800 takes 5 to 10 minutes to pull fresh satellite data; subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute. Take the unit outside with a clear sky view, power it on, and leave it stationary until the satellite bar fills — do not start driving during acquisition or it will take longer.

Active navigation drains my new OTR800 battery much faster than when the GPS is just sitting idle — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. Active turn-by-turn navigation runs the GPS receiver continuously and keeps the display at full brightness — the two highest draw components in the unit. Standby draws a fraction of that current because the receiver duty-cycles and the screen dims or turns off. If drain during active navigation still seems excessive, check that screen brightness is not set to maximum and that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are off when not needed — both radios stay active in the background otherwise.
