Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Roccat Elo 7.1 Air — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (FT603048P3)
This 3.7V 900mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the internal battery in the Roccat Elo 7.1 Air wireless gaming headset. It powers both the audio drivers and the 2.4GHz wireless radio simultaneously. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge after repeated cycling.
- Elo 7.1 Air fitment: The Elo 7.1 Air runs its wireless radio and 7.1 surround processing from a single cell. Both loads draw from the same voltage rail, so the replacement must match the 3.7V nominal and the 48.70 × 30.80 × 5.90mm form factor exactly — the housing leaves no room for a thicker cell.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under combined audio and 2.4GHz radio load. The BMS held the output rail stable through normal signal bursts and did not trip on the brief current spikes the wireless transceiver generates during re-sync events.
- First-cycle logging on the Elo 7.1 Air: After fitting, place the headset in its USB charging position and run a full charge cycle before use. The headset's onboard firmware logs the new cell during this first cycle — skipping it causes the battery indicator to report inaccurate levels until the cycle completes.
Why the Elo 7.1 Air cuts out mid-session on a fresh battery
The Elo 7.1 Air drives both the surround sound DSP and the 2.4GHz transmitter from one small cell. When the wireless signal has to re-establish — after moving out of range or USB interference on the receiver — the transceiver briefly spikes current draw. If the replacement cell's internal resistance is elevated, that spike causes a momentary voltage dip below the BMS cutoff threshold, dropping the headset. A properly conditioned cell with low internal resistance handles the spike without tripping. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles to bring internal resistance down to operating spec.
Headset shows full charge but shuts off after a few minutes of use
A new Li-Polymer cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.80–3.85V — not at full charge. The headset's fuel gauge reads this as near-full and displays accordingly, but the actual usable capacity is not available yet. One complete charge cycle brings the cell to its true 4.2V peak. After that first full cycle, the capacity indicator and actual runtime will align correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Elo 7.1 Air keeps cutting out mid-game even though the battery shows charged — what's happening?
This is a voltage sag issue, not a charge level issue. The 2.4GHz radio and surround DSP spike current simultaneously, and a new or partially conditioned cell can dip below the BMS cutoff under that combined load — causing the dropout. Run three full charge-discharge cycles to lower the cell's internal resistance. After conditioning, the BMS will hold the rail stable through those transceiver spikes.
The talk-time on the replacement battery seems much shorter than it should be for the first few uses — is the cell faulty?
It is not faulty — Li-Polymer cells deliver below-rated capacity for the first three to five cycles while the lithium ions establish full intercalation paths through the electrode material. Each full cycle adds usable capacity incrementally. By cycle four or five, the cell should be operating at or near its rated 900mAh. Do not judge capacity until you have completed at least three full charge-discharge cycles.
The headset gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during long gaming sessions — is that normal?
The Elo 7.1 Air houses a small cell in a compact plastic shell with limited airflow. Sustained draw from both the audio processing and the wireless transmitter generates heat in a confined space, so mild warmth is expected. If the housing becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, that points to elevated internal resistance in the cell — usually from an incomplete first cycle or a partially charged starting state. Charge the headset fully via USB, let it cool completely, then discharge and recharge once more to normalise the cell's resistance.
