Fits ROVUS BL500N, BL500, and BL517 cordless vacuums; replaces OEM battery part BL500N.
14.8V lithium-ion with 3400mAh capacity delivers full motor torque on carpet and hard floors without early cutoff.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab seats flush on insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in a BL500N under sustained suction load — BMS held steady at 14.8V with no throttle events.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously; trickle charge cycles degrade capacity faster than removing the pack when full.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ROVUS BL500N / BL500 / BL517 — 14.8V Li-ion 3400mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 14.8V, 3400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the ROVUS BL500N, BL500, and BL517 cordless stick vacuums. It slots into the same battery compartment as the original and connects to the same motor control board. Capacity is 3400mAh (50.32Wh) — matched to the original specification.

  • BL500N, BL500, BL517 compatibility: These three models share the same 14.8V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One battery fits all three without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through charge and discharge cycles on the BL500N. The BMS held cutoff voltage correctly and the motor control board accepted the handshake without fault codes.
  • Dock charging on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock indefinitely. Continuous trickle charge from the dock accelerates capacity fade on Li-ion cells. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The BL500N motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder to maintain suction. As current draw rises, the battery voltage sags under load even though the cells still hold charge. The indicator reads the resting voltage, not the loaded voltage, so it shows mid-range while suction has already fallen. Clean the filter first. If suction restores, the battery is fine.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the motor pulls current above the BMS threshold — typically caused by sustained restricted airflow from a blocked filter or brush roll jam — the BMS opens the discharge circuit to protect the cells. The few-second pause is the BMS resetting. Clear any blockage at the brush roll and filter, then check that resting voltage is at or above 15.8V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ROVUS BL500N loses suction halfway through cleaning but the battery light still shows full — what's going on?

A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes the battery voltage to sag under load even though the cells are not depleted. The indicator reads resting voltage, so it shows full while the loaded voltage has already dropped enough to reduce motor speed. Clean the filter and check the brush roll for hair wrap. If suction returns after clearing the blockage, the battery is not the problem.

The motor on my BL517 keeps cutting out for a few seconds then starts again — is the battery faulty?

That cut-and-recover pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead cell. The BMS opens the discharge circuit when current exceeds its threshold — usually triggered by a blocked brush roll or filter restricting airflow and pushing motor draw up. Clear the blockage first. If the motor runs continuously after that, check that the battery reaches at least 15.8V at rest after a full charge.

I replaced the battery in my ROVUS BL500 and now it doesn't seem to last as long as the original — could it be how I'm charging it?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of premature capacity fade on these vacuums. Leaving the unit on the dock after it reaches full charge puts the cells through a slow trickle cycle that degrades capacity over weeks. Charge the battery to full and remove it from the dock — do not use the dock as a storage stand. If the battery was already left on continuous charge, run two full discharge-and-charge cycles to recalibrate the BMS state-of-charge reading.
