This is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by restricted airflow, not a failed battery. When the motor works against a blockage in the brush head, hose, or a clogged filter, current draw spikes past the BMS cutoff threshold and the output disconnects. After a short rest, cell voltage recovers and the vacuum restarts. Check the brush roll for tangled debris, clear any hose blockage, and inspect the filter before assuming the battery needs replacement.
The replacement battery charges fully but the vacuum doesn't last as long as it used to even after several cycles — what's happening?
Capacity fade from continuous dock charging is the most common cause on the X-Plorer 75 platform. Leaving the vacuum permanently on the dock keeps the cells in a constant trickle-charge state, which degrades lithium-ion capacity faster than normal use cycles. With the new battery, charge to full and remove it from the dock — run it down through normal use before recharging. After three to five full cycles off the dock, runtime should stabilise near its rated capacity.
