Fits Salente L5 cordless vacuum cleaner, replacing the original 14.4V lithium-ion battery pack.
14.4V nominal voltage with 2600mAh capacity delivers consistent motor power throughout the cleaning cycle on this handheld unit.
Connector mates directly to the L5 charging dock and vacuum housing with standard contact alignment and positive lock tab.
Bench testing showed stable 14.4V output under motor load with BMS responding correctly to restricted suction draw conditions.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously — trickle charge degrades capacity faster than removing after reaching full.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Salente L5 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 2600mAh lithium-ion battery for the Salente L5 cordless vacuum cleaner. It replaces the original pack when the existing cell no longer holds a full charge or fails to power the motor through a cleaning cycle. Voltage and capacity match the original specification.

  • L5 platform fit: The L5 runs a 14.4V motor rail with a pack that physically locks into the handle base. This replacement matches that voltage, connector orientation, and BMS communication so the vacuum powers on and accepts a charge without fault codes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a 14.4V Li-ion platform. The BMS triggered overcurrent protection correctly under load spikes and released cleanly on reset — no false trips at normal motor draw.
  • Dock charging habit on the L5: The L5 charger does not taper off once the pack is full. Leaving the vacuum on the dock continuously applies a low-level trickle that degrades cell capacity faster than regular charge-and-remove cycles. Charge to full, then pull it off the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than rated — usually because the filter is partially blocked. The BMS reads the elevated draw as a stress condition and steps back the output voltage before the fuel gauge trips. The vacuum feels underpowered even though the battery still shows charge. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest. If suction recovers, the cell is fine.

Motor cutting out mid-use and recovering after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, clogged nozzle, or pressed hard into dense carpet — the motor load spikes above the BMS threshold and the pack cuts output to protect the cells. A short pause lets the BMS reset and power returns. Fix the restriction first. If cut-outs continue on a clear filter, check that pack voltage after a full charge reads at least 16.2V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Salente L5 loses suction quickly but the battery indicator still shows plenty of charge — is the new battery faulty?

The battery is most likely fine. When the filter is even partially blocked, the motor pulls more current than rated, and the BMS reduces output voltage to protect the cells before the indicator drops. That voltage sag kills suction without triggering the low-battery light. Clean the filter thoroughly, then retest — suction should recover to full strength.

The L5 motor shuts off for a few seconds then comes back on its own during cleaning — what is causing that?

That is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, not a weak battery. It happens when the nozzle is pressed hard into thick carpet or the airflow path is restricted, pushing motor draw above the protection threshold. The pack cuts out briefly to protect the cells, then resets. Clear any blockage in the nozzle and filter; if the cut-outs stop, the battery is working correctly.

The replacement battery charges fully but after a few weeks the run time is noticeably shorter — what went wrong?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause. The L5 charger does not switch to a maintenance mode when the pack is full, so leaving the vacuum docked permanently applies a slow trickle that accelerates capacity fade in the cells. Remove the vacuum from the dock once charging is complete. If capacity has already dropped, run two or three full charge-and-deplete cycles to let the BMS recalibrate its state-of-charge reading.
