Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Salente L6 / G4 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 14.4V, 2600mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Salente L6 and G4 cordless stick vacuums. When the original cell degrades and suction noticeably drops or runtime shortens, this unit restores the vacuum to working condition. It matches the voltage and form factor required by both models.
- L6 and G4 shared platform: Both models run on the same 14.4V rail and use the same battery housing dimensions and connector orientation, which is why a single cell covers both. The BMS in each vacuum communicates with the battery over the same protocol — no firmware mismatch between the two.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the L6's motor controller under restricted-airflow conditions to confirm the BMS handles sustained high-draw events without tripping into a hard cutoff. Voltage held within acceptable range across the discharge curve.
- Dock charging on the L6 and G4: Do not leave the vacuum seated in the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging is the single fastest way to degrade cell capacity on these models. Charge fully, then remove from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The L6 motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter or full dust bin causes the motor to pull past its rated draw. The BMS responds by reducing available current before the fuel gauge registers low, which shows up as weakening suction with bars still lit on the indicator. This is not a fault with the battery itself. Clean the filter and empty the bin, then check whether suction recovers — if it does, the cell is functioning correctly.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the L6 motor sustains a restricted-airflow draw for long enough, the protection circuit cuts output to prevent cell damage, then resets once temperature and current normalise. The pause before recovery is the BMS re-initialising — typically 15 to 30 seconds. If this happens repeatedly, the filter is the first thing to check; a clogged filter keeps the motor in a high-draw state permanently. Clear the restriction and the trips will stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Salente L6 loses suction halfway through cleaning even though the battery indicator still shows plenty of charge — what's happening?
The motor draws more current when the filter is partially blocked, pulling the cell voltage down before the indicator registers low. The fuel gauge reads state of charge, not available current — so suction can drop while bars remain lit. Check the filter first; a blocked filter keeps the motor in a sustained high-draw state the battery struggles to sustain. Clean the filter, reset the vacuum, and test again before assuming the cell is faulty.
I replaced the battery but the Salente L6 still won't charge — the charger light doesn't do anything different from before.
Some cordless vacuum chargers expect a specific handshake from the battery's BMS before initiating a charge cycle. If the replacement cell arrived in a deep-discharged state, the charger may not recognise it as a valid battery. Try connecting the charger and leaving it for 20 to 30 minutes without interruption — some BMS units require a low-current pre-charge pulse before the handshake completes. If the charge light changes state after that period, the cell is recovering normally.
After a few months the Salente G4 battery barely lasts through one room — it ran much longer when it was new.
Capacity fade this fast almost always traces back to continuous dock charging. Leaving the vacuum on the dock between every use exposes the cells to constant trickle current, which degrades lithium-ion capacity faster than regular charge-discharge cycles. Going forward, charge only when the battery is depleted and remove the vacuum from the dock once it reaches full. That single change stops the accelerated fade — it does not recover lost capacity, but it protects what remains.
