Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SCH-I909 / Galaxy S (CDMA) — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AB653850CC)
This is a 3.7V, 2400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Samsung SCH-I909 and Galaxy S (CDMA). It replaces OEM parts AB653850CC and AB653850CU. The cell fits the original battery bay and reconnects to the device's charge IC via the standard three-contact board connector.
- SCH-I909 and Galaxy S (CDMA) fitment: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The 51.26 × 40.64 × 12.27mm cell fits either device without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the SCH-I909 platform. The BMS accepted the handshake without triggering an incompatibility flag, and the charge IC reached the expected 4.2V termination voltage cleanly.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After installing a new cell, run one complete discharge to around 5% before recharging fully. The SCH-I909's coulomb counter is still mapped to the old cell's discharge curve — skipping this step causes the fuel gauge to report inaccurate percentages for weeks.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SCH-I909 after a cell swap
The SCH-I909 uses a voltage-based fuel gauge that maps a specific discharge curve to percentage readings. A new cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile than the aged cell it replaces. Under modem or display load, voltage drops sharply at a point the fuel gauge still reads as 20–30%, triggering an emergency shutdown before the displayed percentage reaches zero. One full discharge-charge cycle lets the coulomb counter re-anchor its low-voltage cutoff to the new cell's actual curve, eliminating premature shutdowns.
Device won't power on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells discharged below approximately 2.5V trigger a BMS lockout — the protection circuit opens to prevent cell damage, and the phone shows no response to the power button. Connect the device to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC on the SCH-I909 delivers a low trickle current that slowly pulls the cell voltage back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once voltage crosses roughly 2.9V, the BMS closes and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SCH-I909 keeps shutting off at around 25% even though the battery shows charge — what's causing this?
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity issue. The new cell's discharge curve doesn't match the calibration data stored in the fuel gauge IC from the old battery, so the phone reads 25% right up until the cell voltage collapses under screen or modem load. Run one full discharge to 5% or lower, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to remap its cutoff point to the new cell.
The battery percentage on my SCH-I909 jumps around erratically after I put in the replacement — is the new battery faulty?
The battery is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the SCH-I909 was calibrated against the old cell's impedance and discharge curve, and it's now feeding estimates through a model that no longer matches the cell it's measuring. The erratic readings are the counter trying to reconcile mismatched data. Complete two full discharge-to-charge cycles without interruption, and the percentage display will stabilise as the IC builds a new reference curve.
My SCH-I909 feels warm near the battery during the first few charges after the swap — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell creates slightly more resistive heating during the first few charge sessions than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC on the SCH-I909 compensates, but some warmth at the back of the phone near the battery bay is expected for the first two or three full cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or charging stops before 100%, remove it from the charger and let it cool to room temperature before resuming. After the cell's impedance settles — usually by the third full cycle — the warmth disappears.
