Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SCH-R850 / Caliber R860 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB664239HA)
This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the Samsung SCH-R850, Caliber R850, Caliber R860, and Suede R710 flip phones. It replaces OEM part EB664239HA and drops into the same battery bay without modification. Capacity is rated at 800mAh — matching the original cell specification.
- SCH-R850 / Caliber / Suede platform fit: These models share the same battery footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol across the EB664239HA family. The 41.23 × 38.64 × 6.33mm cell fits each variant without case interference or connector force-fitting.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SCH-R850 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering charge-fault states, and voltage held stable at 3.7V nominal across the full discharge curve.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this cell, run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before relying on the battery percentage indicator. The SCH-R850's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one full cycle resets that reference so the reported percentage tracks correctly against the new cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity defect. When the SCH-R850 makes a call or lights the display, current draw spikes. If the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, it reads 25% remaining while the actual cell voltage has already dropped below the BMS low-voltage cutoff threshold — around 3.0V under load. The phone cuts power before the percentage hits zero. One full discharge-to-charge cycle corrects the fuel gauge reference and eliminates most of these shutdowns. If it persists after two full cycles, check that the battery connector pins are fully seated.
Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first one or two charges, the charge IC pushes current into that higher-impedance cell, and some of that energy converts to heat rather than charge. This is normal and typically resolves by the third cycle as internal impedance drops. If the phone stays noticeably warm beyond the third full charge, verify the charger output — the SCH-R850 should be charged at 5V standard USB, not higher-voltage adapters.

Frequently Asked Questions
My replacement battery shows 100% immediately after I plug it in, then the phone dies at 25% — what's happening?
The fuel gauge IC on the SCH-R850 is still using the discharge curve from the old degraded cell as its reference point. It reports percentage against that old curve, so the numbers drift badly until the IC relearns. Run one complete discharge — use the phone until it shuts off on its own — then charge it uninterrupted to full. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter reference and the percentage readings will track correctly.
The phone won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation — is it dead?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if voltage drops below roughly 2.5V the BMS latches into a protective lockout state and the phone won't respond to the power button. Connect the phone to a known-good 5V USB charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring voltage above the BMS recovery threshold — once it crosses that floor, the BMS releases and the phone will boot normally.
After fitting the new battery, the percentage jumps around erratically — 60%, then 45%, then 70% within minutes — is the battery faulty?
The percentage jumping is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell, not a sign of a bad battery. The SCH-R850's fuel gauge tracks charge state using a model built on the old cell's impedance and discharge curve — a new cell doesn't match that model yet. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles without interrupting the charge midway. After the second cycle the IC will have enough data to build an accurate model and the percentage will stabilise.
