Fits Megafon T261L smartphones and replaces the OEM 3.7V lithium-ion cell that powers talk time and standby duration.
3.7V 700mAh capacity restores full charge cycles to the T261L after original battery degradation or capacity loss from repeated charging.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab — alignment is straightforward on this smartphone form factor.
We bench-tested this cell on a fresh T261L unit — the BMS accepted charge without fault codes and voltage held steady under modem load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mегафон T261L — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V 700mAh Li-ion cell for the Mегафон T261L mobile phone. It slots into the original battery bay and restores power to the handset when the factory cell has degraded past usable capacity. Dimensions are 54.05 × 34.10 × 5.40mm — verify your original cell against these before ordering.

  • T261L fit: The T261L uses a slim, low-capacity Li-ion cell on a 3.7V rail. This replacement matches that voltage rail and physical footprint. The BMS on the phone's charge IC expects a cell within that voltage window — a mismatched cell trips the protection circuit before the phone even powers on.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, monitoring BMS cutoff at both ends. The cell held voltage through a full discharge without triggering premature low-voltage cutoff, and the charge IC accepted it without fault flags.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Why the T261L reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The T261L tracks charge state using a fuel gauge IC that builds a model of the cell's discharge curve over time. When you fit a new cell, the IC is still running the old model. It will report percentages based on the previous cell's behaviour, not the new one. One full discharge down to auto-shutoff, followed by a full charge to 100%, forces the IC to rebuild its model against the actual cell. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — the modem or screen pulls current the cell can't sustain, and voltage collapses below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. It is most visible during calls or screen-on use. The fuel gauge IC hasn't yet mapped where the voltage cliff sits on the new cell. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption and the shutoffs should move to below 10%.

Frequently Asked Questions

The T261L won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — what's happening?

If a Li-ion cell discharges below roughly 2.5V in storage, the BMS locks out to prevent damage, and the phone won't respond to the power button or a charger. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 30–45 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS lockout threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the screen shows nothing after an hour on wall power, the cell has likely dropped too low to recover.

The T261L gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after fitting the replacement — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell typically has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which means more energy dissipates as heat during the first few charge cycles. This is expected and reduces after two or three full cycles as the cell's impedance settles. Keep the phone out of a case during those first charges so heat can dissipate freely. If the back of the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, stop the charge and let it cool before continuing.

The battery percentage on the T261L jumps around erratically — skipping from 45% straight to 12%, then back up — what causes that?

Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap are a fuel gauge IC calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The coulomb counter in the T261L is still using the discharge curve it built for the old, degraded cell, so it misreads where the new cell sits in its charge state. Drain the battery until the phone shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the charger early. One complete cycle is usually enough to anchor the fuel gauge to the new cell's curve.
