Samsung camcorder bodies map battery percentage against a stored voltage-threshold table calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new third-party cell can sit at 50% actual charge while the body reads it as empty, because the voltage at that point doesn't match the camera's expected reference. This is a calibration mismatch, not a faulty battery. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle inside the camcorder body and the indicator will re-anchor to the new cell's curve.

When the camcorder's motor, sensor, and processing draw spike together — particularly during continuous recording or zoom — the cell voltage dips momentarily. If the BMS hasn't yet profiled the new cell's internal resistance, it misreads that dip as a larger capacity drop and updates the indicator sharply. After two or three full charge cycles, the BMS builds an accurate resistance profile and the percentage display stabilises. If jumps persist beyond three cycles, check that cell voltage under load stays above 6.8V — below that, cell capacity has degraded.
