Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Saramonic WiTalk9 Intercom Headset — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (WiTalk9 BP)
This 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Saramonic WiTalk9 wireless intercom headset system, covering model numbers 11601, WiTalk9 Intercom Headset, and WiTalk9 SMH. The pack slots into the headset housing and restores power to both the audio processing and the DECT radio transmitter. Capacity is rated at 5.92Wh at the cell level.
- WiTalk9 platform fit: The 11601, WiTalk9 Intercom Headset, and WiTalk9 SMH all share the same battery bay dimensions and connector pinout. The BMS handshake logic is identical across these variants, so one cell covers the full WiTalk9 lineup without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack under combined audio and DECT radio draw — the two loads that run simultaneously during an active call. The BMS held stable charge acceptance across multiple cycles with no thermal cutoff events.
- First charge in the base station: Place the headset in the WiTalk9 base station and run one complete charge cycle before taking a call. The base station needs to log the new cell before its talk-time estimate reads accurately — skipping this step causes the indicator to report incorrect remaining charge.
Why the WiTalk9 headset cuts out mid-call on a new battery
The WiTalk9 draws current from two sources simultaneously during a live call: the audio codec and the DECT radio transmitter. On a cell that has not completed its first full cycle, this combined draw can pull the terminal voltage below the BMS protection threshold momentarily, triggering a cutoff. The headset drops the call and may appear to power off briefly before recovering. Running two to three full charge-discharge cycles through the base station raises the cell's effective voltage floor and eliminates most mid-call drop events.
Base station showing a charging error after fitting the new pack
The WiTalk9 base station communicates with the headset BMS to confirm cell presence before starting a charge cycle. If the cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6–3.7V — the base may not complete the handshake on the first attempt and will flag a charging error. Remove the headset from the base, wait ten seconds, and reseat it firmly. If the error persists, hold the headset's power button for five seconds to reset the BMS, then reseat in the base — charging should begin within thirty seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions
My WiTalk9 headset cuts out mid-call even though the base showed a full charge — what's happening?
This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. During a live call, the audio codec and DECT radio transmitter draw current at the same time, which can briefly pull the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold on a new or recently fitted pack. The headset drops the connection and recovers, but the base still reads "full" because the overall charge level is fine. Run the headset through two or three complete charge cycles in the base station — the voltage floor stabilises over those cycles and the drop-outs stop.
Talk time seems much shorter than rated during the first few uses — is the battery faulty?
It is not faulty — Li-Polymer cells need conditioning cycles before they reach rated capacity. On the first cycle, the cell typically delivers 80–85% of its rated 1600mAh. Each full charge-discharge cycle through the WiTalk9 base station adds usable capacity incrementally. After three to five complete cycles, measured talk time should align with the rated 5.92Wh spec.
The headset gets noticeably warm during long intercom sessions — is that normal for this pack?
Some warmth is expected. The WiTalk9 housing is compact, and the combined load of the DECT radio and audio processing generates heat that has limited surface area to dissipate. What to watch for is heat that makes the housing uncomfortable to touch or a BMS cutoff triggered by temperature — that indicates a sustained draw exceeding the cell's rating. For sessions longer than a few hours, dock the headset in the base station periodically to allow the cell temperature to drop before continuing.
