Fits SCANGRIP Miniform 03.5036 rechargeable flashlight, replaces OEM part 03.5096.
3.7V 1100mAh Li-ion cell delivers consistent output through inspection tasks without voltage sag until final discharge cycle.
Cylindrical cell seats in single-cell tube with positive contact spring; orientation locked by housing geometry.
We bench-tested this cell in the Miniform housing across multiple charge cycles; BMS accepted the cell immediately with no contact resistance faults.
On first charge in the Miniform, the flashlight driver may cycle the output at very low voltage before shutoff — switch to standard mode instead of turbo to extend usable runtime before cutoff occurs.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SCANGRIP Miniform 03.5036 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (03.5096)

This 3.7V 1100mAh Li-ion cell replaces OEM part 03.5096 in the SCANGRIP Miniform 03.5036 rechargeable work light. It matches the original cell's voltage and footprint, so it seats correctly without modification. When the original cell degrades and the light no longer holds charge, this is the direct swap.

  • Miniform 03.5036 platform: The Miniform uses a single 3.7V Li-ion cell on a fixed-voltage driver circuit. Cell geometry matters here — the 40.30 x 36.40 x 8.60mm dimensions must match for the contacts to seat and the BMS to read the cell correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Miniform's charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault flags. The protection circuit engaged correctly at low-voltage cutoff, preventing deep discharge damage.
  • Miniform storage tip: If the Miniform sits unused for several months, the onboard protection circuit may trip before the light ever powers on. Seat the new cell, connect the charger, and let it sit for 15 minutes before pressing the power button — this allows the BMS to initialise from a deep-sleep state.

Miniform dimming to low output before the indicator shows low battery

The Miniform's driver has brownout protection that steps output down when cell voltage drops below roughly 3.2V under load — even if the indicator hasn't triggered yet. This is intentional circuit behaviour, not a faulty cell. A degraded original cell hits this threshold faster because its internal resistance is higher, causing voltage to sag under draw. A fresh cell at full charge stays above that threshold longer, so the light holds its target output further into the discharge cycle.

New cell installed but Miniform won't power on at all

Li-ion cells shipped at storage charge — typically around 3.6V — can sit below the Miniform driver's minimum startup voltage after extended transit or storage. The protection circuit interprets this as an unsafe state and blocks output. Connect the Miniform to its charger immediately after installing the new cell. Once the cell reaches approximately 3.7V, the driver releases the lockout and the light powers on normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SCANGRIP Miniform runs on turbo for a short time then drops to a noticeably dimmer output — is the new cell faulty?

It's not faulty. The Miniform's turbo mode draws significantly more current than standard mode, pulling the cell voltage down faster and triggering the driver's brownout protection sooner. That protection steps the output down to keep the cell above its safe discharge floor. Switch to standard mode for sustained output — the cell will hold above the brownout threshold much longer before stepping down.

The Miniform charged fully, but after a few weeks sitting unused the light won't turn on and the cell reads low voltage — what happened?

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and the Miniform's onboard protection circuit can trip if the cell drops below the minimum safe threshold while the light sits idle. The circuit locks output to prevent the cell from being drawn into a damaging deep-discharge state. Plug the Miniform into its charger and leave it connected for at least 15–20 minutes before pressing the power button — once the cell recovers to approximately 3.7V, the BMS releases the lockout.

The replacement cell charges fine but the Miniform feels noticeably warm near the battery compartment during charging — is that normal?

Some warmth during charging is normal for a Li-ion cell this size, but heat concentrated at the battery compartment usually means the cell is being charged at a rate the small form factor struggles to dissipate. Confirm you're using the original SCANGRIP charger — third-party chargers with higher output current can push more heat into the cell than the 03.5096's thermal rating handles well. If warmth becomes hot to the touch, disconnect immediately and let the cell cool to room temperature before resuming.
