Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

SCANGRIP Mini Mag Pro COB LED — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (03.5767)
This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the SCANGRIP Mini Mag Pro COB LED work light (03.5692). It slots into the compact flashlight body and powers the COB LED driver directly. Capacity matches the original at 1200mAh (4.44Wh).
- Mini Mag Pro COB LED fit: The 03.5692 uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a fixed connector footprint. This cell matches that voltage rail and physical format — the BMS handshake initialises without triggering a protection fault on first charge.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Mini Mag Pro's driver circuit across low, medium, and turbo output modes. The BMS held cutoff at 2.75V under high-current draw and resumed normal charging without manual reset.
- Turbo mode discharge rate: The COB driver pulls significantly more current in turbo mode than in standard or low modes. Running the light continuously on turbo accelerates cell depletion — switch to medium output for extended task lighting sessions to keep cell voltage above the BMS cutoff threshold.
Why the Mini Mag Pro dims hard before the low-battery indicator triggers
The COB driver in the 03.5692 uses brownout protection to step output down when cell voltage drops below a set threshold — typically around 3.2V. This happens before the low-battery LED indicator activates, so the light appears to dim suddenly with no warning. It is not a fault — it is the driver protecting the cell from over-discharge. If dimming occurs early in a session, the cell is likely degraded and no longer holding charge near its rated capacity.
Light flickering or cycling between modes near end of charge
Mode-cycling at low charge is a symptom of the driver repeatedly hitting and recovering from its brownout threshold. As cell voltage sags under load, the driver cuts output; voltage briefly recovers with no load, and the driver restores output — creating a flicker loop. This is not a driver fault. Switch the light to low mode to stabilise output until the cell is recharged. If cycling starts at the beginning of a charge cycle rather than the end, cell capacity has degraded and replacement is needed — check resting voltage with a multimeter; a healthy cell at full charge reads 4.1–4.2V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Mini Mag Pro dims suddenly even though the battery indicator hasn't come on yet — is the battery dead?
Not necessarily dead, but the cell voltage has dropped below the COB driver's brownout threshold — around 3.2V — which triggers an output step-down before the low-battery indicator activates. This is the driver protecting the cell, not a fault. If it happens early in a session, the cell is no longer holding its rated 1200mAh and needs replacement. Charge fully and test again; if dimming returns within a short work session, replace the cell.
The light keeps flickering and switching modes on its own near the end of a charge — what's causing that?
The driver is hitting its brownout cutoff, recovering briefly as load drops, then cutting again — creating a flicker loop as cell voltage oscillates around the threshold. Switch to low output mode immediately; this reduces current draw enough to stabilise cell voltage above the cutoff point. It is not a driver or connector fault. Recharge the cell and the behaviour will stop; if it starts happening at the beginning of a fully charged session, the cell has degraded and should be replaced.
The Mini Mag Pro runs noticeably shorter on turbo than I expected compared to low mode — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong — turbo mode drives the COB array at significantly higher current than low or medium modes, and a single 1200mAh cell depletes faster under that sustained draw. The gap in output duration between turbo and low is expected and is determined by the driver's current settings, not a battery defect. If turbo duration has shortened compared to when the light was new, the cell's usable capacity has faded. A healthy replacement cell at 3.7V nominal will restore output duration closer to original spec on all modes.
