Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SCANGRIP Mini Slim — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (03.5387)
This 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the SCANGRIP Mini Slim compact work light (03.5610). It matches the OEM voltage, capacity, and slim-pack dimensions (53.00 × 20.30 × 10.00mm) so it seats correctly in the housing without modification. When the original cell loses capacity and the light no longer holds charge, this is the direct swap.
- Mini Slim platform fit: The Mini Slim uses a single flat Li-Polymer cell matched to its integrated driver circuit. Voltage must sit at 3.7V nominal — cells outside that spec cause the driver to misread charge state and step down output prematurely.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on this cell and confirmed the BMS accepts a full charge without false cutoffs. Capacity measured at or above the rated 1000mAh on first full cycle.
- Single-cell storage tip: Li-Polymer cells in compact lights degrade faster when stored fully charged for weeks at a time. If the Mini Slim is going on the shelf, discharge it to around 50% first — this reduces electrolyte stress on the single cell and slows capacity fade between uses.
Mini Slim dimming before the indicator shows low
The Mini Slim's driver circuit monitors cell voltage in real time. As the Li-Polymer cell ages, its internal resistance rises — even when the indicator still reads partial charge, voltage under load sags below the driver's threshold. The driver steps down output to protect the cell, so the light dims before the indicator catches up. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage under load and keeps output stable longer.
Replacement cell not charging after fitting
A Li-Polymer cell that sits discharged in storage for too long can drop below the driver's minimum acceptance voltage — typically under 2.5V. When voltage is that low, the charger circuit in the Mini Slim refuses to begin a charge cycle as a protection measure. To recover it, use a standalone Li-Po charger with a trickle or recovery mode to bring the cell back above 3.0V, then reconnect it to the Mini Slim for a normal charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SCANGRIP Mini Slim is suddenly much dimmer even though I just charged it — what's happening?
The Mini Slim's driver steps down output when cell voltage sags under load, even if the charge indicator looks fine. This happens when the original cell's internal resistance has risen with age — it can't sustain voltage once the light draws current. Fitting a fresh 3.7V cell restores the voltage headroom the driver needs to hold full output. If dimming returns quickly on a new cell, check that the charge contacts in the housing are clean and making full contact.
The Mini Slim keeps cycling through modes on its own near the end of a charge — is the driver faulty?
The driver isn't faulty — it's responding to voltage drop at the cell. When charge is nearly depleted, cell voltage dips just enough that the driver loses confidence in the supply and re-initialises, which looks like mode cycling. Switch the light to its lowest output mode as soon as this starts; lower current draw keeps cell voltage above the cutoff threshold and stops the cycling. A replacement cell with full capacity will push this behaviour much further into the discharge cycle before it appears.
The new battery I fitted charges fine but runtime in the highest brightness mode is noticeably short — is the cell underrated?
High brightness mode on the Mini Slim draws significantly more current than standard mode, which pulls down the cell voltage faster and triggers the driver's low-voltage cutoff sooner. The 1000mAh rating reflects total capacity at a moderate discharge rate — high-draw modes don't extract the full rated capacity before cutoff kicks in. This is normal Li-Polymer behaviour, not a defective cell. To get the most out of each charge, use the highest mode only when necessary and drop to standard for sustained work.
