The SP523450 is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell that powers the SenHaix 1410, 1420, and 1430 handheld two-way radios. It slots into the same battery bay as the original and connects to the same BMS contact points. Capacity is 1000mAh — use the product data, not third-party listings that inflate this figure.

  • 1410, 1420, and 1430 compatibility: These three SenHaix models share the same battery bay geometry, contact pin layout, and voltage rail. A single SP523450 cell fits all three without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and transmit-load discharge on a 1410 body. The BMS held the voltage rail steady through repeated PTT bursts and tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold — no false overcurrent events.
  • First insertion contact check: If the charger dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The SenHaix dock requires a clean contact cycle to register the BMS handshake before it will begin charging.

Why the SenHaix 1410 cuts out mid-transmission on a fresh SP523450

A new cell ships at storage voltage — typically 3.6V to 3.65V, not a full 4.2V charge. When you press PTT, transmit current spikes sharply. If the cell hasn't been charged first, that spike can pull the voltage below the BMS overcurrent trip threshold and cut the radio mid-transmission. This is not a fault with the pack. Charge the battery fully before the first transmit cycle and the issue won't repeat.

SenHaix radios use voltage-threshold bar indicators — each bar maps to a fixed voltage step, not a capacity percentage. A new cell at storage voltage (around 3.6V) sits below the top threshold, so the radio shows one bar short of full even though the pack is not depleted. Place the battery in the charger dock until the charge light goes green. Once the cell reaches 4.1V–4.2V, the indicator will display the correct bar count.

My SenHaix 1410 drops to low transmit power partway through a shift — is the SP523450 pack faulty?

This is voltage sag under sustained RF output, not a faulty pack. As the cell discharges past roughly 3.5V, the radio's power management circuit reduces TX output to protect the BMS from dropping below cutoff. It's normal behaviour on a small 1000mAh cell under heavy use. If it happens unusually early in the shift, check that the pack reached a full 4.2V charge before the shift started.

The charger dock blinks a fault LED and never clears after I insert the new SP523450 — what's wrong?

The dock is rejecting the BMS handshake, usually because the pack shipped below the dock's minimum acceptance voltage (around 3.0V). Remove the battery, wipe both the gold contact strip on the pack and the dock pins with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. If the fault LED persists, connect the dock to power and leave the pack seated for 15 minutes — most SenHaix docks will trickle-charge a low cell until it crosses the acceptance threshold and then switch to normal charge mode.

The SP523450 sat unused for several months and the radio won't power on at all now — is the cell dead?

Extended storage can push a Li-ion cell below the BMS recovery threshold (typically around 2.5V), and the BMS locks out to prevent damage. The radio won't power on because the BMS is blocking output entirely. Seat the pack in the charger dock — do not press PTT. Leave it for 20–30 minutes to allow the dock's trickle circuit to bring the cell back above 3.0V, at which point the BMS will reinitialise and the radio should power on normally.
