Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark IZ201 / IZ462H Series — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XSBT700)
This 25.2V 3000mAh lithium-ion battery pack fits the Shark IZ201, IZ251, IZ462H, IZ482H, and 17 additional IZ-series cordless stick vacuums. It replaces OEM part numbers XSBT700, XSBT700EU, XSBT750, and XSBT750EU. The pack slots directly into the battery bay and communicates with the vacuum's onboard BMS before the motor will spin.
- IZ-series compatibility: All listed models share the same 25.2V cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The vacuum's control board verifies voltage and authentication before enabling the motor — any cell short of 25.2V nominal will not pass that check.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on an IZ462H under sustained carpet load. The BMS held steady through repeated high-draw cycles, maintained voltage above the motor cut-off threshold, and passed the authentication handshake on first connection.
- Dock charging behaviour: Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously. These IZ-series vacuums apply a trickle charge when docked, which degrades cell capacity noticeably faster than charge-and-remove cycling. Charge to full, then pull it off the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The IZ201 motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter or obstructed brush roll forces the motor to work harder, pulling amps the battery wasn't rated to sustain at full suction. Voltage sags under that load, and the vacuum reads the sag as a depleted pack before the indicator has moved. Clean the foam and felt filters, check the brush roll for hair wrap, and retest. Suction loss that disappears after a filter clean is a motor-draw issue, not a battery fault.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the brush roll meets sustained resistance — thick carpet, a blockage, or a heavily clogged filter — current draw spikes past the BMS protection threshold and the pack shuts the output rail. After 30–60 seconds the BMS resets and the vacuum runs again. The fix is removing the restriction, not replacing the battery. Clear the blockage, clean the filter, and confirm the brush roll spins freely before assuming the pack is faulty.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Shark IZ201 has noticeably less suction than it used to, even with a fresh charge — is the battery causing this?
A clogged filter is the more likely cause. A restricted airflow path forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes voltage to sag under load and mimics a weak battery. Clean the foam and felt filters first, then clear any hair wrap from the brush roll. If suction recovers after cleaning, the battery was never the problem.
The vacuum ran fine on my old battery with continuous dock charging — why is this replacement losing capacity faster?
Continuous dock charging applies a low-level trickle current to the cells even after they hit full charge, and Li-ion cells degrade measurably faster under that condition. The original pack likely showed the same fade — it just took longer to notice. Charge this replacement only when depleted, remove it from the dock once the indicator shows full, and capacity will hold longer between cycles.
My IZ462H just cut out mid-clean and won't restart, but the battery indicator still shows charge — what happened?
The BMS tripped an overcurrent cutoff, most likely from sustained restricted suction against thick carpet or a partial blockage. The pack shuts the output rail to protect the cells, even though remaining charge is still present. Wait 60 seconds for the BMS to reset, then clear any blockage and clean the filter before restarting. If the vacuum restarts cleanly after that sequence, the pack is functioning correctly.
