Fits Shark XB2700, V2700Z, V2930 cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part XB2700 and C-XB2700.
4.8V Ni-MH pack delivers 1600mAh capacity — supplies stable voltage to motor under suction load without early cutoff.
Connector seats into the battery slot with positive and negative contacts aligned; no locking tab required for this model.
We bench-tested the cell under sustained motor draw; BMS accepted initial charge without fault codes and held voltage stable under load cycles.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently — continuous trickle charge degrades Ni-MH capacity faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark XB2700 Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (XB2700)

This is a 4.8V 1600mAh Ni-MH battery pack for the Shark cordless handheld vacuum. It fits the XB2700, V2700Z, and V2930 models. The battery powers the motor and suction system and replaces the original pack when capacity has dropped or the unit no longer holds a charge.

  • XB2700, V2700Z, and V2930 compatibility: These three models share the same 4.8V battery rail, connector format, and BMS handshake. Swapping this pack across any of the three does not require modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the XB2700 platform. The BMS held cutoff correctly at low voltage and did not trip under normal motor draw during sustained suction.
  • Dock charging habit for Ni-MH cells: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously after the charge completes. Ni-MH cells develop capacity fade significantly faster under constant trickle charge. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

On the XB2700, suction loss often happens before the battery is actually depleted. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated. The BMS detects the elevated draw and throttles output to protect the cell. Clean the filter first — if suction restores immediately, the battery was not the cause.

Motor cutting out mid-use and then recovering after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. It happens when sustained restricted airflow — usually a blocked filter or nozzle — causes the motor to spike current beyond the pack's continuous discharge threshold. The BMS cuts the circuit and resets after a cool-down period. Clear the blockage and verify the filter is seated correctly before assuming the battery is faulty; target a resting voltage of at least 5.4V before the next use cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Shark XB2700 loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery light still shows full — what's happening?

A partially blocked filter makes the motor pull more current than rated, and the BMS throttles output to protect the cell — suction drops even though the battery is not depleted. Remove and clean the filter completely, then retest. If suction returns to normal, the battery is fine. If suction is still weak after a clean filter, charge the pack fully and check that resting voltage reaches at least 5.4V before use.

The motor on my XB2700 cuts out after about 20 seconds of use, then works again after I set it down — is the battery dead?

That cut-and-recover pattern is an overcurrent trip from the BMS, not a failed cell. Sustained restricted airflow — blocked nozzle or clogged filter — spikes the motor current past the pack's discharge limit, and the BMS opens the circuit until temperature drops. Clear any blockage and reseat the filter before replacing the battery. If the problem continues on a clean, unobstructed machine, the pack may have developed high internal resistance — charge fully and check that voltage holds above 5.0V under load.

I've had this replacement battery a few months and it already seems weaker than when I first installed it — did I get a bad cell?

Premature capacity fade on Ni-MH packs in cordless vacuums is almost always caused by continuous dock charging, not a defective cell. Leaving the vacuum docked after the charge completes forces a constant trickle charge through the cells, which degrades capacity faster than normal cycling. Remove the vacuum from the dock once charging is complete and only return it when the pack is depleted. If you switch to that habit and capacity still declines after several full charge cycles, the cells may need replacement.
