Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Solac AE2536 Series — 36V Li-ion Replacement Battery (S00001979)
This 36V, 2200mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original S00001979 cell in the Solac AE2536 and AE2536 2JG cordless stick vacuum. It delivers the same voltage rail the motor controller expects, so suction performance stays consistent from the first pass to the last. Capacity matches the original at 2200mAh (79.2Wh).
- AE2536 and AE2536 2JG compatibility: Both models share the same 36V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits either unit without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through full charge and discharge cycles on the AE2536 platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the charger, accepted a full charge without error flags, and released current to the motor without overcurrent trips under sustained load.
- Dock charging on the AE2536: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously between uses. The AE2536 dock applies a low-level trickle charge when the battery is full, and sustained trickle charging accelerates cell degradation measurably. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the AE2536
This is one of the most common complaints on the AE2536 and it usually isn't the battery. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor works harder to maintain airflow and draws more current than rated. The BMS detects the sustained overcurrent and steps down the voltage delivered to the motor, which the user feels as suction loss — even though the battery indicator still shows charge remaining. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest. If suction holds consistently after a filter clean, the battery is fine.
AE2536 motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a few seconds
A momentary cut-out followed by recovery is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. It happens when the vacuum runs over a blockage or a thick carpet pile that stalls airflow — the motor pulls a spike of current, and the BMS shuts output to protect the cells. The protection circuit resets automatically once the load drops. Clear any blockage, check the filter, and restart. If the cut-out happens repeatedly on open floor with no obstruction, the replacement cell's BMS may need a full charge cycle to calibrate — charge to 100% before further use.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Solac AE2536 loses suction halfway through cleaning even though the battery light isn't flashing low — is the battery faulty?
Not necessarily. On the AE2536, a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current, and the BMS responds by reducing voltage to the motor — which you feel as weaker suction before the battery indicator drops. Clean or replace the filter and retest under normal conditions. If suction holds after a filter clean, the battery is working correctly.
The AE2536 cuts out for a few seconds during heavy carpet cleaning and then restarts on its own — what's causing that?
That's a BMS overcurrent trip. When the motor stalls against dense carpet pile or a partial blockage, current spikes beyond what the BMS allows, so it cuts output briefly to protect the cells, then resets when the load drops. Check for hair or debris wrapped around the brush roll and clean the filter before the next use. If it still trips on open, clear flooring, run the battery through one full charge cycle to let the BMS calibrate its cutoff thresholds.
My AE2536 battery fades noticeably within a few months of getting a new one — why does this keep happening?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause. The AE2536 dock applies a trickle charge whenever the battery is full and the unit is seated, and sustained trickle charging accelerates lithium-ion cell degradation faster than regular charge-discharge cycling does. Charge the battery to 100%, remove the vacuum from the dock, and only return it when the battery needs charging again. Storing the battery at a full charge on the dock long-term will reduce capacity faster than normal use.
