Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Somfy Oximo 40 RTS Series — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (5122452B)
This is a 12V 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Somfy Oximo 40 RTS motorized roller shade and awning actuator. It fits the Oximo 40 RTS 6 Nm, 6, 6/18, and 10 Nm variants. When the original cell degrades, the motor stops responding to RTS remote commands — this battery restores that function.
- Oximo 40 RTS actuator fit: The 6 Nm and 10 Nm variants share the same internal battery bay dimensions and 12V supply rail. The connector and cell form factor (428 x 25 x 22.3mm) match across this actuator family, so the same battery services the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Oximo 40 RTS platform. The BMS accepted the charge profile without fault, and the motor responded to RTS remote commands across all tested positions — up, down, and preset stop.
- First-run motor calibration: After fitting a new battery, run the shade through a full up-down travel cycle manually via the RTS remote. The Oximo actuator re-learns its travel limits from the new power state — skipping this step can leave the shade stopping short of its programmed end positions.
Why the Oximo 40 RTS stops responding mid-cycle after a battery swap
The Oximo 40 RTS motor controller monitors supply voltage throughout each travel cycle. If the replacement cell shipped in a low storage state, voltage can sag under motor load and trigger a mid-cycle cutoff — the shade stops and the remote appears to lose communication. This is not a pairing fault. Fully charge the new battery before the first run, then confirm resting voltage is at or above 13.2V before commanding a full-travel cycle.
RTS remote shows no response after battery replacement — not a pairing issue
After a power interruption, the Oximo 40 RTS controller resets its internal state. The motor needs up to 60 seconds after battery installation before it will accept RTS commands — sending commands immediately after fitting the cell gets ignored. Wait the full 60 seconds, then press the My button on the remote. If there is still no response, check that the battery connector is fully seated; a partial connection passes enough voltage to power the controller but not enough to drive the motor.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Oximo 40 RTS shade keeps stopping short of its fully closed position after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?
The actuator lost its programmed travel limits when power was interrupted during the battery swap. The Oximo 40 RTS stores upper and lower limit positions in volatile memory that resets on power loss. Run a full manual up-down cycle using the RTS remote immediately after installation to let the motor relearn its end stops. If the shade still stops short, re-program the limits through the remote's limit-setting sequence as described in the Somfy setup guide.
The new battery drained much faster than I expected — the shade already feels sluggish after just a few weeks.
Ni-MH cells that sit in storage too long arrive partially discharged and can take several full charge-discharge cycles before reaching rated capacity. A sluggish motor on short cycles is usually the cell not yet at full capacity rather than a fault. Run five complete full-travel cycles — fully up, fully down each time — to condition the cell. If the issue persists after conditioning, check that the charger is delivering the correct 12V charge voltage to the actuator's charge port.
I charged the new battery overnight but the Somfy app still shows a low battery alert — is the sensor wrong?
The low battery alert threshold is checked against the voltage reading at the moment the controller last polled the cell. If the battery was installed below that threshold, the alert flag stays set until the controller runs a fresh voltage check. Trigger a manual shade movement via the remote or app — this forces the controller to sample current battery voltage and clears a stale alert. If the alert remains after a confirmed full charge, verify resting voltage at the actuator terminals is above 13.2V.
