Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony VAIO SVT-11 / SVT-13 Series — 11.1V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (VGP-BPS30)
This is an 11.1V, 4000mAh (44.4Wh) lithium-polymer battery for the Sony VAIO SVT-11 and SVT-13 ultrabook series. It replaces OEM part numbers VGP-BPS30 and VGP-BPS30A. The battery fits the slim bay of these 11- and 13-inch ultrabooks and connects using the original multi-pin BMS interface.
- SVT-11 and SVT-13 platform fit: Both the SVT-11 and SVT-13 lines run the same 11.1V battery rail and share the VGP-BPS30 connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across these two chassis, so one cell serves both without any firmware conflict.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an SVT-13 unit and confirmed the BMS passed charge authority to the motherboard within two minutes of connection. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff and recovered cleanly on reconnect.
- First-cycle reset on VAIO ultrabooks: After fitting, run the laptop on battery only until it hibernates at low charge — do not interrupt. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor after replacing the VGP-BPS30
Sony VAIO firmware stores charge history and wear data in EEPROM on the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the BIOS reads no matching history and flags the battery as degraded or unknown. This is a firmware calibration issue, not a fault with the replacement. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After two to three cycles, the BIOS learn cycle completes and the health warning clears.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The old calibration data maps the wrong voltage points to percentage readings, so the system hits the low-voltage shutdown threshold well before the gauge reaches 0%. It is not a cell defect. Run two or three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles without interrupting the charge phase. By the third cycle the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and the shutdowns stop — check that the resting voltage reads 11.1V or above after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SVT-13 shows the new battery as "0% available (plugged in, charging)" and never updates — what's happening?
The BIOS is still reading EEPROM data from the old cell and hasn't accepted the new battery's identity yet. Disconnect the AC adapter, let the laptop run on battery until it hibernates, then reconnect and charge to 100% without interrupting. This completes the BIOS battery learn cycle. After one full cycle the percentage reading updates correctly.
The VAIO system information panel shows the wrong Wh rating — it says 43Wh but the battery label says 44.4Wh — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The Wh figure shown in Sony's VAIO Care or Windows battery report pulls from EEPROM data on the battery's internal controller, which may carry the rated chemistry value from the original cell's firmware rather than the exact measured capacity of the new one. The actual deliverable energy is 44.4Wh as marked. The discrepancy is a metadata reporting difference, not a performance issue — confirm by checking the resting voltage after a full charge, which should read 12.4–12.6V.
The new VGP-BPS30 battery stops charging at 80% and won't go higher — is the cell faulty?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Sony VAIO firmware on several SVT-series models includes a battery care mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term wear. Check VAIO Control Center or VAIO Care — look for "Battery Charge Mode" or "Long Life" setting and switch it to "Full Charge." Once disabled, the battery charges to 100%.
