Fits Sony Xperia XZ1 and G8342/G8343 variants; replaces OEM part LIP1645ERPC.
3.85V, 2600mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers rated 10.01Wh capacity to restore full daily runtime.
Connector seats vertically into slot with single plastic locking tab; no force needed.
We bench-tested the cell on XZ1 hardware; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion without fault codes.
On first charge after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony Xperia XZ1 / G8342 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LIP1645ERPC)

This is a 3.85V, 2600mAh Li-Polymer cell replacing the original LIP1645ERPC in the Sony Xperia XZ1 series. It fits the XZ1, XZ1 TD-LTE, G8342, and G8343 variants. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to get through a normal day.

  • XZ1 and G8342/G8343 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. The LIP1645ERPC form factor — 102.50 × 42.25 × 4.15mm — is consistent across all listed variants, so one cell covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge and discharge cycle on the XZ1. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags, charge current stepped down correctly at 4.35V, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge reset: After installation, turn off fast charging in the battery settings and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before fast charging pushes higher current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Xperia XZ1 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running a discharge model calibrated to the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage drop under modem and screen load than the IC expects, so it cuts power before the percentage reaches zero. The fix is a full calibration cycle: drain to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the phone. After one or two of these cycles, the coulomb counter realigns with the new cell's actual voltage cliff.

USB fast charging not activating on the first cycle after replacement

On the first charge after a cell swap, the XZ1's charge IC may refuse to negotiate fast charge because the BMS has not yet confirmed cell health to the system. The phone defaults to standard 5V/1A to protect an uncalibrated cell. Charge fully once at standard rate, disconnect, then reconnect — the handshake typically completes on the second session and fast charge resumes. If it does not, check that the charger outputs at least 9V/1.67A and the cable supports USB-PD signalling.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Xperia XZ1 keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the replacement faulty?

The cell itself is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC in the XZ1 is still using a discharge curve it learned from the old, worn cell, so it miscalculates the remaining voltage and cuts power early. Run one full uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge to 100% at standard rate. The coulomb counter recalibrates against the new cell after one or two of these cycles, and the early shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my XZ1 is jumping around erratically after the swap — it went from 60% to 34% in two minutes without me doing anything.

Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap are a fuel gauge IC problem, not a cell defect. The IC's internal model no longer matches the new cell's actual charge state, so reported percentage and real voltage diverge. Drain the phone fully until it shuts itself off, then charge to 100% without interruption at standard current — no fast charging on this first cycle. One full cycle is usually enough for the IC to lock onto the correct discharge curve and stabilise the readout.

My XZ1 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — I can't even get the charging screen.

A cell that has been stored discharged for an extended period can drop below 2.5V per cell, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent further discharge damage. The protection circuit blocks all output until the cell is brought back above the recovery threshold. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell up through the lockout threshold before normal charging resumes. If the charging indicator appears, you are past the lockout; let it charge fully before powering on.
