Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MeiZu 16 Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA882)
The BA882 is a 3.85V, 2950mAh lithium-polymer cell that replaces the original battery in the MeiZu 16, 16 Standard Edition, 16 Standard Edition Dual SIM TD-LTE, and M882Q. It restores capacity to a phone that shuts down early, charges slowly, or no longer holds a usable charge. Voltage and form factor match OEM spec — 76.14 x 61.30 x 3.84mm.
- MeiZu 16 platform fit: The 16 and 16 Standard Edition variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One BA882 part number covers all variants in this cluster because the fuel gauge IC and charge termination voltage are identical across the range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on the MeiZu 16 through a full discharge-charge sequence and monitored BMS cutoff behavior. Charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V and low-voltage protection engaged cleanly below 3.0V — no rogue cutoffs mid-session.
- First cycle after installation: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after fitting this cell. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — running fast charge current into an uncalibrated cell can cause the OS to misreport percentage by as much as 10–15% until the coulomb counter resets.
Why the MeiZu 16 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The MeiZu 16 uses a coulomb counter and fuel gauge IC that builds a discharge model against the original cell's impedance curve. When a new cell goes in, that stored model no longer matches the actual cell chemistry — so the OS percentage reading drifts. This shows up as the indicator reading 40% while the phone is already struggling under load, or jumping from 20% straight to shutdown. One full slow discharge-charge cycle forces the fuel gauge IC to relearn the new cell's curve and anchor the percentage readout to real capacity.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. Under high-draw loads — modem activity, screen at full brightness, GPS active — the cell voltage drops sharply in the 3.5–3.6V range before the OS percentage gauge catches up. The phone's protection circuit interprets this as an undervoltage event and cuts power immediately. Let the phone complete two full discharge cycles before drawing any conclusions about the replacement cell. After recalibration, the fuel gauge's state-of-charge model aligns with the actual cell voltage and the early shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MeiZu 16 won't turn on at all after the BA882 sat in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?
Probably not dead, but the BMS has tripped into lockout. Li-polymer cells that self-discharge below roughly 2.5V per cell trigger a protection cutoff that prevents normal charging from starting. Connect the phone to a low-current USB charger (5V/500mA, not a fast charger) and leave it for 30–45 minutes before attempting to power on — this trickle feeds enough charge to bring the cell above the BMS unlock threshold. If the charging indicator still does not appear after that period, the cell has discharged too far for recovery.
Fast charging stopped working on my MeiZu 16 after I fitted the new BA882 — regular charging still works fine.
The MeiZu fast charge protocol requires the BMS on the new cell to complete a handshake with the charge IC before elevated current is permitted. On the first cycle after installation, many replacement cells present a slightly higher impedance than the aged original, and the charge IC defaults to standard current as a safety fallback. Run one full standard charge cycle to completion — do not interrupt it — and the charge IC will renegotiate the fast charge handshake on the next session. If fast charging still does not resume after two full cycles, check that the cable and adapter both support the MeiZu proprietary fast charge specification.
The MeiZu 16 feels noticeably warm near the back panel while charging the new BA882 — is that normal?
A fresh high-impedance cell dissipates more heat during the constant-current phase of charging than a well-conditioned cell does. On a brand-new BA882, surface warmth during the first few charge cycles is expected and not a fault. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, or if warmth continues beyond the first three cycles, check that nothing is blocking airflow around the back panel and that you are not simultaneously running a GPU-heavy app while charging. After the cell impedance settles across the first few cycles, charge heat drops to normal levels.
