TCL P600 / S820 Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp018B2)

This is a 3.8V, 1800mAh Li-Polymer cell that fits the TCL P600, P606, P606T, and S820 smartphones. It replaces the original TLp018B2 when the factory cell has degraded or stopped holding charge. Capacity is 6.84Wh — identical to the OEM specification.

• P600, P606, P606T, and S820 compatibility: These four models share the same PCB footprint, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — they all read the same cell ID handshake, so one part number covers the full group without modification.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the P600 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V, and no thermal flags were raised during the full charge cycle.
• Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the coulomb counter locks in its capacity estimate.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still referencing the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. A new cell hits a steeper voltage cliff under modem and screen load than the degraded original did, so the phone cuts power before the percentage reaches zero. The OS reads 25% but the cell voltage has already dropped below the BMS cutoff threshold under load. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate resets the coulomb counter and corrects the percentage mapping.

Phone shows incorrect battery percentage after cell swap

The fuel gauge IC stores a learned capacity model from the original cell — it does not auto-detect a new cell on insertion. Until the counter resets, the percentage display can read 10–15% high or low depending on the state of charge when the swap happened. Drain the battery until the phone shuts off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and percentage accuracy stabilises.
