Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Teltonika GH3000 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-5C-H)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell built to the BL-5C-H specification. It fits the Teltonika GH3000, GH4000, and MH2000 mobile devices. Physical dimensions are 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm — confirm against your original before installation.

  • GH3000, GH4000, MH2000 compatibility: All three models share the same BL-5C-H form factor, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. The BMS handshake on each device communicates with the same charge IC, so one cell covers the entire platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a GH3000 unit. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and the protection circuit tripped as expected under simulated over-discharge conditions.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use, disable fast charging if available and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell — preventing erratic percentage readings from the first charge.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a fresh BL-5C-H cell

A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC will cut out before the display reads zero. The coulomb counter in the GH3000 is still tracking the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. When the new cell's actual voltage drops under modem or screen load, the device shuts off even though the OS reports charge remaining. One full discharge-charge cycle without interruption resets the reference curve and stops the premature cutoff.

Device not powering on after the BL-5C-H sat in storage

Li-ion cells stored uncharged can drop below 2.5V per cell, triggering a BMS lockout that blocks normal charging. The GH3000 will show no charge indicator and will not boot. Connect the device to a wall charger — not USB from a PC — for at least 20 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC on the motherboard will trickle current into the locked-out cell until it recovers to approximately 3.0V, at which point the BMS re-enables the charge path and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Teltonika GH3000 shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new BL-5C-H — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the GH3000 is still calibrated to the discharge curve of your old cell, so it misjudges the remaining charge in the new one. Under the load of an active modem or screen, the voltage sags enough to trigger a protective shutdown even though the display shows charge remaining. Run one uninterrupted full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge back to 100% — the coulomb counter will recalibrate to the new cell's curve and the early cutoff will stop.

The GH3000 battery percentage jumps around erratically after the replacement — 60% one minute, 45% the next.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell. The coulomb counter accumulated error data from the old degraded cell and cannot yet predict the new cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship accurately. Erratic readings are normal for the first one to three cycles. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles without removing the battery mid-cycle, and the IC will settle on a stable tracking curve.

My GH3000 gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges with the new cell — is this normal?

Yes, for the first few cycles. A new BL-5C-H cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the constant-current phase. The warmth should reduce after two or three full cycles as impedance drops. If the device becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — stop charging and check that the battery contacts are clean and seated flat against the connectors.
