Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TeXet TM-333 / TM-D305 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TB-BL4U)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the TeXet TM-333 and TM-D305 smartphones. It matches the OEM part number TB-BL4U and fits the original battery compartment at 62.00 × 38.00 × 4.50mm. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.

  • TM-333 and TM-D305 compatibility: Both models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — a single TB-BL4U cell covers both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full discharge and charge sequence on the TM-333, confirming the BMS accepted the cell, reported state-of-charge correctly, and did not trigger an over-voltage cutoff on completion.
  • First-cycle calibration tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Why the TM-333 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The TM-333 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its discharge model from the previous cell's coulomb counter history. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still referencing the old degraded curve. The result is a percentage reading that doesn't match actual charge state — often showing 100% shortly after plugging in, then dropping fast. One full discharge-charge cycle resets the counter and aligns the gauge to the new cell's actual capacity.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't finished recalibrating and the phone hits a voltage cliff under modem or screen load. The cell voltage drops sharply below the shutdown threshold even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. It's not a faulty cell — it's the IC acting on stale data. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption and the shutdowns will stop as the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's actual floor voltage, typically around 3.4–3.5V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TeXet TM-333 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BMS locks out when cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V during storage, which is a protection cutoff, not permanent cell failure. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will re-initialise and allow the phone to boot. If the charging LED doesn't appear within 40 minutes, try a different cable and confirm the charger outputs at least 5V 1A.

Fast charging stopped working after I swapped in the new TB-BL4U — the phone charges slowly now

The charge controller on the TM-333 runs a BMS handshake on the first cycle with a new cell, and some proprietary charge protocols default to standard 500mA current until that handshake completes successfully. This is expected behaviour on cycle one. Complete one full slow charge to 100%, then discharge the phone to around 10% under normal use, and fast charging should re-engage on the next plug-in. If it doesn't, check that the charger is the original or a charger that outputs the correct voltage profile for the phone.

The battery percentage on my TM-333 keeps jumping around erratically — goes from 60% to 45% in seconds

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell and hasn't yet built an accurate discharge model. Erratic jumps — especially sudden drops of 10–20% — are the coulomb counter interpolating between two data points that don't match the new cell's chemistry. Don't top-charge or interrupt cycles during this phase. Run two uninterrupted full cycles — discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without unplugging early — and the IC will lock onto a stable curve, typically settling to within 3–5% accuracy by the end of the second cycle.
