Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Umax U-Smart — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 14.4V 2600mAh Li-ion battery for the Umax U-Smart cordless stick vacuum. It replaces the original battery pack when capacity has dropped and the vacuum no longer runs long enough to finish a clean. Voltage and connector match the U-Smart's original specification.
- U-Smart platform fit: The U-Smart runs a 14.4V motor rail with a BMS that monitors cell voltage during both charge and discharge. This replacement uses the same voltage and cell count, so the vacuum's onboard electronics read the pack correctly from the first charge cycle.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a 14.4V cordless vacuum platform. The BMS balanced cells correctly, charge termination triggered at the right voltage, and the discharge curve held steady before the low-voltage cutoff engaged.
- Dock charging habit on the U-Smart: Do not leave the U-Smart sitting on the charging dock indefinitely between uses. Continuous trickle charging through the dock degrades cell capacity faster than normal cycling. Charge the battery to full, then remove it from the dock until the next use.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the battery's BMS expects under a restricted airflow condition. A partially blocked filter or tangled brush roll forces the motor to work harder, pulling current above the BMS trip threshold. The BMS reads this as a potential overcurrent event and reduces output before the indicator registers low charge. Clean the filter and check the brush roll before assuming the battery is at fault.
Battery fade after months of regular dock use
Li-ion cells degrade faster when held at full charge for extended periods. Cordless vacuums left on the dock continuously never drop below 95–100% state of charge, which accelerates cathode stress at the cell level. Capacity loss shows up gradually — fewer square metres covered per charge, then noticeable suction drop earlier into each session. Break the cycle by charging only when the battery is depleted, then removing the vacuum from the dock once the indicator shows full.

Frequently Asked Questions
The U-Smart motor cuts out mid-clean, then comes back after a few seconds — what's happening?
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush roll, or a tight carpet pile — the motor draws sustained high current and the BMS shuts the output briefly to protect the cells. Clear the filter and brush roll, then resume. If it still cuts out on open flooring with a clean filter, the original battery's cells may have degraded enough that internal resistance is spiking under load — that's the point where a replacement pack is needed.
Suction has been getting weaker over the past few weeks even though the battery shows charged — why?
A partially clogged filter is the most common cause. When airflow is restricted, the motor spins against resistance, draws more current, and the BMS throttles output voltage to stay within safe limits — you feel that as weaker suction before the charge indicator drops. Wash or replace the filter first. If suction recovers, the battery was fine. If suction is still weak with a clean filter, the cells have lost capacity from repeated shallow cycling or continuous dock charging and the pack needs replacing.
The replacement battery isn't charging on the U-Smart dock — the charger light doesn't respond normally.
Some cordless vacuum chargers expect a brief BMS handshake before initiating the charge cycle. If the replacement pack has sat in storage for an extended period, cell voltage may have dropped below the charger's initiation threshold. Try connecting the battery directly to the charger and leaving it for 15–20 minutes — most chargers will begin a low-current recovery charge once they detect even a minimal voltage response. If the dock light still shows no activity after that, confirm the dock output voltage matches 14.4V with a multimeter at the contact pins.
