Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Uniscope U73 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (U73)
This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Uniscope U73 smartphone. It fits the U73 directly and restores power to calls, messaging, and applications when the original cell has degraded. Dimensions are 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm — confirm these against your existing cell before fitting.
- U73 compatibility: The U73 runs a single-cell 3.7V nominal Li-ion configuration. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector orientation. No BMS adapter or wiring modification is needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench and monitored BMS cutoff thresholds. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage and over-current limits, with no thermal anomalies during the charge phase.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated reference.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
The U73's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the old, degraded cell. When you install a new cell, the stored curve no longer matches actual cell voltage behaviour. Under modem transmission or screen load, the new cell's voltage drops sharply at a point the gauge still reads as 20–30%. The phone interprets this as an under-voltage condition and shuts down. One full discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter against the new cell, and the shutdowns stop.
Phone won't power on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage and blocks normal power-on. Plugging in a charger may show no response at all. Apply a known-good USB charger for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button — this allows the BMS to see trickle current, exit lockout, and resume normal charging. Once the LED or screen shows a charge indicator, the cell is above the recovery threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Uniscope U73 show the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new battery?
The fuel gauge IC on the U73 builds its percentage readings from a discharge curve calibrated to the old cell. A new 1200mAh cell has a different voltage-versus-capacity profile, so the gauge reports incorrect figures until it relearns. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter resets its reference to the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after replacing the battery on my U73 — is something wrong?
This is normal on the first connection. Some charge controllers on Android devices re-negotiate the charging protocol each time a new cell is detected, and on the first cycle they default to standard 5V charging rather than the higher-current mode. Disconnect the charger, power the phone off completely, then reconnect. If fast charge still doesn't activate, complete one full standard charge cycle first — the charge IC typically accepts the fast-charge handshake correctly from the second cycle onward.
My U73 feels warm near the battery while charging with the new cell — should I be concerned?
A new high-impedance cell generates slightly more heat during the initial charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. This is because the charge IC pushes current into a cell with higher internal resistance until the first few cycles lower it. Warmth that fades as charging progresses is normal. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or charging does not taper off after reaching full capacity, disconnect immediately and check that the charger output does not exceed 5V/1A for this device.
